Question:
Hi everybody - I'm new here, so please bear with me! [sm=hidesbehindsofa.gif]
I did Reiki I and II several years ago, and although not practicing professionally, have enjoyed using it to help various family and friends ever since. Ok, all pretty normal so far...:)
Last weekend, (a week ago) a friend I haven't seen for quite a few years came to visit. She doesn't do Reiki, but mediumship, and related things. So, we met on the Friday - lots of hugs and happiness - and a fair bit of friendly Reiki.
Oh, by the way, my third eye chakra was doing overtime, and had been for several days previous. That may or may not be significant...?
On the Sunday, we met up with my son and went out, for a drink and a chat at lunchtime. During the conversation, I just went to touch her hand, you know, to emphasise something I was saying, as you do. I wasn't even thinking anything about Reiki - it suddenly kicked in - BIG time!! The heat was unbelievable - I jumped, she jumped - my son must have wondered what on earth was going on! And - it came, not just from my palm, as normal, but from my fingertips as well.
Later, I dropped her off at her hotel, and went home. I started thinking about Reiki. I felt a build-up of the energy - and suddenly, everything opened! And wow - did it open!! I felt a rush of the most intense energy flow through me, and out of every chakra - including feet, knees, right up to the forehead - I think it was coming in through the crown - and it felt gold - pure gold. It was a very overwhelming experience! It lasted quite a few seconds - and I'm not one to burst into tears, but I did then!!.
This happened Sunday night - I saw a friend that can see auras, or colours, as he terms it - on Wednesday, but didn't mention this at the time. Saw him again on Friday evening, and this time I mentioned it - and he said "That explains something". I asked what, he said "When I saw you on Wednesday, you were glowing! And your colour's changed"
I used to have a deep blue (ultramarine?) aura, before doing Reiki, and after Reiki II, it was turquoise. According to my friend, and I've known him many years, and trust him - my aura is now an orange-gold.
I've been wishing to become a Master for quite a while, and have been thinking about where I can get it.
But I have a feeling it's already happened. We know that Reiki is not limited by time or space, so it's feasible that it could have happened before I asked for it - it makes me think of the phrase "When the student is ready, the master will appear".
Two other factors:-
(1) Just about every time I do Reiki on anyone, I have help. The recipient nearly always says that they can feel an extra pair, or even pairs of hands apart from mine. (Fairly common occurrance for a lot of Reiki healers, I think?)
(2) The friend I saw last weekend is a medium, and a pretty good one, from what I can gather.
I don't know who it is that helps when I do Reiki - I can't help thinking though, that one (or some) of them came through, via my friend, and gave me a present?
I'm just wondering where this attunement came from. There's no doubt in my mind that this is what has indeed happened! At the earliest opportunity, I will go to a Reiki master and get this verified, of course - I'm not that irresponsible!
What do you all think? I'd like to know! (I've left a similar message on another forum, so if you think you've read this before, you might well have...)

What an amazing experience!
It can very well be that it was your next level attunement. Some will disagree with me, but if you are open enough, you can get self-attuned to Reiki. No one attuned Usui!
You say that you wnat to to have a Reiki master "verify" if it is really a levle 3 attunement you have received. As far as I am concerned, despite being a RM, I would not know how to verify it!

Yes it is very possible for the energies to attune you to any system at any level though an attunement from source is not always the same as you would receive from someone else as it is usually a simpler connection without any of the baggage that has been accumulated in a lot of the systems over the years.
Unfortunately the energies do not give out certificates for their attunements so you are still going to have to go through the master attunement process with someone else if you need a linage to pass on :-)

What a fantastic experience! I can't comment on whether you have become a Reiki Master, as I don't know - I'm Reiki 2, but obviously something wonderful has happened.
I often get clients commenting on feeling another pair of hands whilst I'm treating them and take this as spirit helping in the healing.

I have had some amazing experiences with reiki, I have only just been atuned to reiki two and I wish to do my Masters when I am ready.
However there are many conflictign things happening in my life I am wanting to do a cource that will enable me to teach work shops on angels ascension and meditation. However this cource is not cheep and I do not work full time so money is very tight.
I want to do this cource so much more than anything so I know I will get it done sooner rather than later. Until I get my head sorted out I am not goign to get my reiki masters.
All the best seems indeed u have been attuned!!

I have a friend coming round this evening, who I did some Reiki with last year when she was going through a bad patch. I'll see if she can tell any difference...! Also, there's a group Reiki share on the first Monday of the month, where I did I & II - I'll go along to that too. I just want to get out there and use this!! - Speaking of there, the Master that attuned me to I & II (moved to New Zealand now, alas) could see energy. Flowing from healers, around seemingly inanimate objects, plants - everything. She told me once (after I'd taken Reiki II) that it was like watching a Master channel - I've never forgotten that (well, you wouldn't would you!!).
Interestingly - I've felt, over the last year or two (or three), that I've been getting a little despondant, despite keeping a cheerful exterior. You know, the 'duck effect' - calm & serene on the surface, paddling like heck underneath.
Think I've had a wake up call?? [sm=scratchchin.gif]

Go with the flow hun *Simply BE* do not question your talents or gifts just know u have them and use them accordingly. Also the *duck Effect* knowing that you are struggling and questioning, means that you are moving along your path at a more quicker pace. Look at it as a par of scales Doubt, confusionm anxiety on one side and Truth Success achievement as well as love on the other side. They both have to balance each other out.
Take this as a sign that inded u r succeeding and developing and embrace this time of doubt and mystery we become stronger through these times!:)

I had the same thought, a few days ago, and did exactly that! As of this afternoon, I have a Master's certificate, and lineage (and manual, which I will carefully study). I don't intend to do any attunements for quite a while yet - I think I'll get used to using the 3rd level Reiki for a year or two first!
The sniffles, coughing fits and headaches are slowly subsiding... at last.;)

Got it done online from a distance, the other day - amazing, this technology now...! Although I'm in no doubt that my experience the other week already provided me with it, at least I now have something nice to hang on the wall. People like to see certificates, especially if they're insuring you.

I've just re-read my last couple of posts - they sounded a tad flippant - that wasn't the intention.
I'm on speaking terms with at least two Reiki Masters locally, and I will endeavour to learn as much as possible from them before going any further. Despite being (evidently) attuned from the 'source', I do realise that there is much to learn - and I respect that.
In my defence, what I experienced isn't something that happens every day - forgive me for being so excited!! [sm=1syellow1.gif]

I realise that this happened a couple of years
back .... but I wondered whether you'd received a Master symbol on your
distant (human) attunement?
Also, do you feel helpers/ guides when working in your place (you
mentioned someone coming round) or if you are doing Reiki somewhere
else? The energy builds up in certain places through constant use of
Reiki there!!
Know what you mean about the master channel - someone (who's Reiki
trained) who I was treating told me that I (as a Reiki 1) was sending
Master level energy to her ..... this is something that I have yet to
explore but it does give you a certain amount of confidence that you're
doing the right thing!!
