Multiple Sclerosis and Reiki
Question:

Trying to find a useful article (or anyone's personal experience/comments?) about MS and Reiki.
I have searched this site, not found much, and the 'net (painful-no broadband[&:]) where I have found lots of MS Society newsletters with short pieces reporting that "a Reiki attunement day was held..." or similar...but I've not found a nice concise article about the benefits - I'd like to be able to show the manager of a local independent MS advice and treatment centre where I'm hoping to volunteer.
I have gleaned that intensive Reiki can help with energy lows and of course the mental and emotional issues that sufferers experience. Anyone out there work with MS sufferers or has a link to an article, I'd be greatful.
Thanks

Hiya...
My best friend has MS... I did some Reiki on her... My reiki master gave me special hand positions for MS and the heat was quite strong when I did the reiki in those postions.
Apart from Reiki.... My friend has found an AMAZING diet which is helping her LOADS with MS... If you would like me to I can get more details for you... just PM me and let me know...

Hiya
I have a client with MS and frequently give her Reiki. I would be very interested to hear about the special hand positions and diet your client follows if you are willing to share. Sometimes I feel so helpless, especially when she is in remission, and also very much alone - so it's good to know there is someone else out there!
Thanks JM

Just revisited this thread and found new posts...:D
The only special hand positions I've heard of is this from William Rand. Just re-read it and realised I've got at least 3 people I'd like to try it on:

Here is a techniques that appeared in the Sept. 01 issue of the Free online Reiki News. You can use this to treat yourself as well, simply by assuming the crossed legs and arms position and thinking of Reiki.
This is an effective Reiki technique for treating anyone who has experienced a stroke. It is also effective for all motor/neurological issues including dyslexia, Parkinson's, MS and more. This technique helps heal and balance energy patterns on all levels.
With the client on their back have them cross the right ankle over the left. Also, have them cross their arms so that the left wrist is crossing the right wrist, the hands are resting on the chest. Treat both sides of the head with Reiki for about 20 minutes and then have them switch - left ankle over right , right wrist over left and treat through the head again. If more than one person is giving Reiki then the other person can place their hands on the places that are crossed and give Reiki. The results are amazing. I have also used this with pulmonary edema when a person could hardly breathe because of the fluids. In 20 minutes the swelling was visibly diminished. (Editors Note: When giving a self treatment, you can also extend the hands up to hold each of the opposite shoulders.) Thanks goes to Mari Hall for this wonderful treatment method.
Love and peace,
William Lee Rand"
I'll report back myself eventually - anyone else used this?

Yes, I have used it! In fact I posted a reply to a member whose father has Parkinsons to see if it was any use to her.
I have used it, very successfully, for strokes.
Thanks to Mari Hall!!!
