Question:
My mother has been diagnosed with Osteoporosis in her spine and I was wondering if reflexology could be used to help relieve some of her pain as she seems to have a lot of problems with standard pain killers issued by the doctor. If so what sort of time frame would we be talking about to find some relief (first treatment ot 8th treatment)?
Was going to try acupuncture but she has been put off by the needles!
I am an aromatherapist but her doctor will not give permission for any massage treatment due to pressure on the back. Would reflexology be suitable?
Hi izzig
Yes, I would tell your mother to try Reflexology. It can be very effective for pain relief and also extremely relaxing. I find the effects sometimes vary considerably from person to person but your Mother should get a good indication from the first treatment as to the benefit she will get. I then usually recommend weekly treatments from between 3 to 6 weeks and monthly sessions thereafter but constantly monitor the progress.
I hope Reflexology helps her.
Best wishes
Jackie
