Question:
Hi, does anyone know of a really good facial care range that doesn't cost a fortune in start up costs and that will allow mobile therapists to purchase??
Have looked into Nimue and Biocol, does anyone have any feedback on these?
Thanx v. much :D
Hi Halle
Depends on what style of products you are looking for. If you want the Salon style standards, then I'd say Susan Molyneux or Dermalogica are the best bets (not sure what start up costs are). If, like me, you are keen on only using only natural products then I'd definitely try Natural Elements www.NaturalElements.co.uk whose products are all organically plant derived and endorsed by Vegetarian Society; or Phytotermal which are marine algae based and also very natural www.biote.co.uk. I know that both of these ranges don't require big start up costs and unlike some companies, there is no minimum order which is good for mobile therapists. I have tried and tested quite a few ranges and I certainly like working with the last two, my clients love the feel and scent of them as well. I work in a health retreat and these two ranges fit in nicely with ethos of the retreat.
Hope this helps.

Hi Sue,
Thanks for your advice, i will definately think about your suggestions!!!;)
Hi Halle
I can recommend the Nicole Miller range. They are lovely products and based around natural ingredients. I use them myself and am very happy with them. Start up costs are very low and there are lots of benefits. PM me if you want more info.

Hi,
i would suggest Skintruth if you are looking for nice but inexpensive products. You can get them from most salon suppliers and do not have to buy a certain amount either..just as little or much as you want to buy.
You can get professional products or those for retailing.
I thinkth e producst are nice, they tend to have a very light smell, just a clean and nice smell...also i find men like the products as well..they offend no one and are very effective and nice.

Hi Halle,
I originally trained with Essensa products and found them to be superb - they are also a natural, aromatherapeutic range and starting packages are very reasonably priced (from £150). They do sell to mobile therapists and there are no minimum re-order costs. The range contains no artificial fragrances and is based around the healing properties of plant extracts - I saw wonderful results even with skins that would normally be very reactive (i.e. mine!!). Although I don't use the facial products in my salon (sadly the natural, holistic image didn't fit with our market) I still continue to buy and use their lemon enzyme exfoliator and men's moisturiser for my own use at home, and I do use their facial oil blends for massage at work. Their website is http://www.essensauk.com
Of the 2 ranges you mentioned, I haven't come across Biocol but Nimue is a fantastic AHA-based product range that gives very good results. I would class it as a "cosmeceutical" line at the more clinical end of the market, and this is reflected in their price structure. Wonderful for environmentally damaged skin, but the treatments and products need commitment from the client to get the best results. I looked into Nimue a few months ago and was very impressed, but finally plumped for MD Formulations (which is also an AHA-based line) - mainly due the difference in packaging, as I found the MD line to be more male friendly (I work at a men-only salon and this was an important consideration).
As Sue commented, your final choice will be influenced by the style of products you are after - what image are you aiming to project, what type of customer are you hoping to attract? Let us know how your research goes - I love hearing other people's experiences of all the various products out there!

Hello,
I would recommend the Skintruth range as well. It smells lovely, it's nice and soft on your skin and it doesn't irritate. I get mine from Salon Services. It's cheap but really good!
