Collect Questions

I have been aware of a female bear hanging around me (protecting me?) and she has visited me twice on 2 consecutive nights just as I was drifting off to sleep, and again today when I had some healing, although this time she was sitting at my feet and wouldn't leave when I questioned whether or not she was really there. Does anyone have any info on a bear as a totem animal?
I already know that they represent protectiveness and can appear when a person is developing spiritually but woulkd appreciate any further info:D
