Homeopathic remedies during childbirth
Question:

Hi there,
Not sure whether I should have put this in the pregnancy section or not, but I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on whether it's safe, and when and how to take the following remedies in childbirth. (Anything to make it easier!) At the mo I am 39 weeks pregnant and am taking raspberry leaf capsules. I have arnica for during and after the birth, but have also been advised that Kali Phos and Pulsatilla may be a great help. My midwife has absoloutely no idea (she's not much help at all really) and my doctor is pretty anti-alternatives.
Can anyone help me out here? Advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Congratulations on the impending birth of your baby!
Homoeopathic remedies - absolutely safe. You have no worries. Arnica is the most obvious remedy. However as far as the others go, you are best visiting a homoepath. Homoeopathy is not a one remedy for all treatment. There is a specific remedy for each person in each state. If you can see someone now - do so. Also ask if the homoeopath can be present during the birth. That way they can administer remedies as your condition changes. Many homoeopaths are willing to do this.
If not I'd suggest you give Helios a call and see if they can send you one of their homoeopathic birthing kits.
Their website is helios.co.uk
Ring them and they are very helpful.
Good luck.
Kind regards,
Christina

Hi there
Congratulations and I bet you can't wait. My homeopath gave me lots of her remedies but they were all made by her and just had nos. - I remember B25 being a rescue remedy. However, I do remember that she told me to sip Rasp Leaf tea throughout labour (you're already taking capsules though).
My homeopath gave me lots of remedies for baby; colic, constipation, teething. Have you ever had a full consultation? Helios looks good or, if you would like more details of mine, please feel free to PM me.
Let us know how things go.:)

I used the Helios birthing kit when I was in labour with my youngest daughter!! My mum was with me for the birth (hubby chickened out with this one after having seen the other 2!) and was on the phone to our homeopath every hour with an update and on my labour, and to be told what to give me next!!
I think it helped a great deal - I did still have an epidural, but I am sure it helped to speed up the labour, and to help my uterus during and after the birth.
Helios are great, anmd delivery is really quick, but I think you will need advise from a homeopath aboutg what to take when.
Good luck!!
