Hi Dye,
Congratulations on your Reiki 1 and 2 :)
After the self-healing cleansing cycle, you can get insurance and practice on the general public. How long that is depends on your Reiki discipline.
As for the Reiki going away, this does seem strange. Perhaps your Reiki Master meant that the healing won't be so strong if you don't do your self-healing. Reiki is always with you once you have been attuned. However, Reiki is very much a way of life as well as a way to heal people, and since you have been attuned, you may as well enjoy the benefits. It's a bit like buying a Green and Black's delicious dark chocolate, bringing it home, and then just leaving it in the kitchen cupboard. What do you think? ;)
hi,
thank you for your help, so you are saying that reiki never goes away but it gets weak if you stop using it,
which i can understand.
with my other question of when do i start treatments on the public , i am insured already , but i have done many courses and never using them on the public, so i dont know if i should jump on the wagen or wait until i can do it with my arms folded behind my back.

Hi Dye
First of all congratulations on your Reiki 1 and 2 and welcome to the Reiki family.
If you have people who are willing to let you practise Reiki on them then go for it. The more you practise the stronger the Reiki will become in my experience. Once you are attuned to Reiki you are attuned for life. Whether you use it or not is entirely up to you. It will still be there when you want it. :)
I remember my first proper professional Reiki healing. I knew I was going to get an important call, took it, made the appointment, and went to part of the manual that I was guided to. Shaking like a leaf, I decided on a rough treatment strategy, practicing with my teddybear till it was almost alive! Then I went to sleep and felt the pain where my soon to become client felt it. It turned out to be a serious condition, and somehow I just let intuition guide me and all was just fine. Since then, I would be guided to the part of the manual that I needed, until I learned to do it on autopilot mode.
I do several Reiki treatments a week and now Reiki is about a third of my full-time income, with many happy clients whose lives have been turned around. I think you should ask yourself whether it is better to deprive your potential clients of truly amazing healing or whether you can risk chancing it. I'd say go for it now; you'll be amazed what a difference your healing can make to people's lives. After all, the Reiki goes to where it's needed, so as long as you have the professional and legal bits right, you can't do much wrong if you tried.
