Feature on reflexology on This Morning
Question:

Think it's called that, it's the Lorraine Kelly programme. Anyway, they're doing something on reflexology 'after the break' this morning!!

Answers:

bugger! i saw them advertising this on gmtv... gloria hunniford and complementary therapies but alas, i had to go to sainsbury! did you see it and did she make a good case?

Answers:

Hiya Rosie. It was pretty short and sweet and I missed a bit because of having to go and tell the kittens off (they were in the kitchen trying to lick out the scrambled egg pan, little monkeys :D). Gloria Hunniford was having a treatment with Renee Tanner and there were good, easy to understand explanations of what reflexology is and how we believe it works. Renee came across very well. They had a bit with a doctor saying that of course it's all humbug, but I missed most of that due to naughty cats. They will probably have a bit about it on their website as it's a comp therapies feature over several weeks called Glo'rious. Shiatsu will be the next therapy they look at. Lorraine Kelly and Phillip Schofield were also making positive comments about reflexology after the feature was over. I wish I'd seen the whole thing... Anyone else catch it?

Answers:

No I didn't - but I wish I had. Would be interested to hear more about it - especially since I have spent the last two days doing taster sessions at a local health club. I hope there was a positive spin on it as I have seen how beneficial reflexology is time and time again.

Siobhan it is refreshing to see that you have mixed up the titles of the morning tellie programmes! This Morning is on later (or was when I lived in that twilight world):D.
I am sure it will give us some good exposure, these things always do and clearly that doctor has never had a good treatment! Shame.:(

All these programmes look the same to me Candie! :) Same formula and all that. I feel like phoning the programme up and offering their doc a reflexology treatment so he can see for himself. It's a pity they're not all like the GP of one of my clients. He is heavily into homeopathy himself, and advised her to try reflexology. I also got a referral recently from a chiropractor so I'm feeling pretty well disposed towards my health profession brethren ;)

these doctors annoy me... apparently, Dr Chris said something like... i cant see how it can work.
by him saying that, the trusting viewing public *hear* him say, it doesnt work. why doesnt he just have a go and find out out if it works? by not trying and just giving a sweeping declaration, he does big damage.
sounds good siobhan... well done, you!

Hi Candie,
I was a bit confused at first, but it's definitely This Morning, and Lorraine Kelly tends to stand in for Fern Britten once a week [sm=bouncy.gif]

Hi everyone
I saw the feature on reflexology on This Morning. I thought they really put it in a positive light, apart from Dr Chris but you can't win 'em all!
I think they covered it well especially by saying that the therapies we offer can complement a GP's treatment and that only qualified therapists should be consulted.
However I wish that they would put a list of societies that people could contact for information rather than just one as this would surely help viewers to find more practitioners in their area.
