'Fruity Friday!'
Question:

I'm currently studying nutrition at college and i came across the 'world cancer research fund',(they promote healthy eating) who have organised charity event called 'Fruity Friday' in May. I'd like to get involved and raise some money, but i haven't come up with any realistic ideas yet. If anyone has any ideas, prefable to continue to promote healthy eating, please let me know
Many thanks!

Answers:

You could approach local supermarkets and ask for donations of soft fruit, yoghurt, milk. They will often help if you contact the events coordinator and agree to acknowledge the supermarket in your promotion. Then set up a smoothie bar at college and sell to students.
Also contact your local health promotion department, they will have loads of free resources that you can hand out.
Just an idea.

how about having a fining system for any non-fruity smacks your fellow students eat during the day? A bag of crisps a quid/ a ginsters sausage roll £1.50 / portions of chips £1.20 - you could work out just how unhealthy the snacks are and fine accordingly, and stick the info up on a notice. Have a corresponding list of info about the healthy bonuses of eating fruit.
