Question:
I know that there are many different ways that people experience Reiki but I was wondering if someone might be able to offer some advice?
After not giving healing to anyone (apart from myself) for a while I was wondering what a cold sensation means.
When I heal myself its always heat and warmth I feel but when healing a friend the other day at a Reiki Share I started with warmth, then heat and then cold - really cold, although my friend did not feel this.
Is is just another way that the Reiki comes through or does it indicate an area which may need more or less? I am still learning to trust my intuition when giving Reiki to others and although it does not concern me as there is only ever good intent I am just curious and keen to expand my own knowledge

As you say Babe, everyone experiences different things.
There's one person who I give reiki to and she feels extreme cold most times and only occasionally warmth.
As for what I feel, I get different sensations. I've experienced all sorts from warmth, cold, jabbing sharp pains in my palms, feeling other hands on top of mine, energy pushing my hands off the client etc. Each time I experience these things I just listen to my mind and follow my intuition. If I'm suddenly thinking "ooo, I wonder if that's a blockage?" or "is that an old physical problem I can feel?" then I take it that I'm thinking those things because that is what my intuition and sub conscious is trying to tell me is there, so rather than distract myself by trying to rationalise it I just go with my first thoughts and carry on the treatment with the intention of dealing with whatever came up for me.
Sometimes it's hard to trust your intuition. It takes a bit of getting used to. Mostly, if you trust that reiki is doing what it should then allowing yourself to trust your intuition will follow. Patience and belief. ;)

Cold energy can sometimes indicate an old injury somewhere, but I do agree with Giles its always best to try and trust your intuition

I think a cold sensation may sometimes be a spiritual or emotional energetic block and like the feelings of heat it indicates a need for treatment.
