Going Mobile - hints tips and advice ...behalf of girlfriend
Question:

Hello again everyone,
I’ve just been looking around this forum and u really have a great little community going on here. Well i`m Chris and i`m actually posting a few questions on behalf of my girlfriend who is a level 3 qualified beautician. I`m in my final year at uni and well she has been working since leaving college 3 years ago. Hopefully next year i should be working full time and maybe we can eventually settle down as we have been together 6 years! However situations have changed with her job and after trying hair dressing (an not enjoying it, returning to beauty after 3 months) she then went on to run a beauty salon chain at the back of a hairdressers for her old boss. This was great experience for her as she had to single handedly run the place, she was more or less doing what she would need to do if it was her own place except accounts! Unfortunately due to reasons beyond her and her bosses control the place had to be closed. Until they can find anywhere else (which i doubt they will for the price, which is why it was really opened in the first place!) she can only have 3 days work in her bosses run salon (which is better than nothing!) But with saving up for future, and obviously through her own ambitions she would like to start a mobile service 3 days, Monday, Fri , Sat (working in the salon Tu, Wed Thu) and if it really took off then maybe full time mobile.
Basically have any of you got any tips or advice on anything that i could tell her that might give her a helping hand! Services she should offer, best treatments, prices (should she be trying to cut local salon prices for example?), which insurance co. to use, declaring self employed (can she claim vat like normal business?), how do you guys organize ur days i.e. with traveling time, how to get business, flyers, posters, handouts???
I know the question has been very long winded but i just wanted to explain a bit about me, then it didn’t look weird if you could tell i didn’t have a clue about beauty ...and i`ll definitely show Christina the website when i get back at weekend...although she doesn’t take much interest in computers and the net lol !! Also i realize the question is very open ended but any help appreciated.
A few treatments I know she is offering : Massage (aromatherapy don’t know yet due to insurance reasons) , Hopi ear (insurance permitted), all your waxing, manicure and pedicure (do you guys offer both a basic and deluxe?), Indian Head, St Tropez (MAYBE air tan…see air tan thread), facials, makeup (do u guys get many makeup’s mobile. bridal ect?) NAILS – ummm she has just recently done the NSI nail extension course, but she isn’t that confident, they look good but its taking about 2 - 2 ½ hours per treatment which is way to long…problem is we need to get leaflets out so don’t know how to advertise it! (promotion price?)….that’s most of it I think, probably forgot something obvious haven’t i!!!
Look forward to your replies!!
Chris

Hi Chris :)
well We all wish we had a fella like you .......great of you to give your girl all that encouragement and take time to search the web for ideas.
Not sure what advice I can give but one thing I would say is, if your girlfriend want s to do mobile beauty she should not undercut the salon she is working in at the moment.
For one thing she will need her travel expenses, and another she should try to keep the prices the same....what if she cannot make it to a client on a specific day/time ,she could then advise the client to come to the salon and the client will know the price is the same. And the client will be happy to have your girlfriend doing her nails, wax ,wahtever!
Alot of money goes into setting up a mobile business as well as the extra time travelling and setting up at the destination.
I would consider it careully.
Wishing you boyth the best of luck in whatever you decide to do.....hope this helps :)
Feel free to PM if there is anything you want to run by me.....sometimes another oerson canlook at things from another angle wen not in the situation theirselves.
PLs....ignore the mistakes as I dont seem to be able to delete mistakes on this website.....strange though it seems...[&:]

Hi Chris ;)
How caring and thoughtful of you ... I wish that there were more men like you on this planet ... your girlfriend's truly blessed! :D
Swampduck has given excellent advice which I hope you'll take into serious consideration  as travelling & scheduling time around appointments away from one central 'spot', will inevitably be really taxing on your girlfriend. [:'(] A nightmare in fact! [:@]
Don't get me wrong - the idea is excellent, and apparently works very well, according to 'some' (it's a huge industry in Australia for instance) ... but MMMMMmmmmm  is the truth really being revealed? I wonder!
Maybe it's working for companies that hire a group of underpaid staff to do all their running around for them????? [:'(]
Personally, I would highly recommend that she begin looking into 'Alternative Remedies' which incorporate ELECTROTHERAPY / BIORESONANCE / BIOELECTRO etc. devices as opposed to only relying on her HANDS-ON treatments. :)
This is very simply because people cannot charge their worth for the luxury of any hands-on treatment these days, unless done so under the name of some VERY RENOWNED salon or whatever, where the costs are unaffordable for most average folk. :(
The way I see it, is that the more Electrotherapy devices one can afford to purchase & operate, the better. :D This then means, that the 'therapist' merely applies the appropriate device to each individual client, in the shortest space of time, allowing her/him to tend to a GROUP of clients in a relatively short space of time, as opposed to spending their valuable time concentrating/dedicated to only ONE source of revenue at a time.
For starters, a Rife Frequency Generator (the only OTHER requirement - a nice comfie chair - since all that is required of the client being treated, is to hold onto an electrode (surgical steel) handle in each hand, or a pair of footplates beneath their bare feet) and a Non-surgical facelift machine would generate 10x, if not more, income than any hands-on treatment would, and trust me, there is no compromise in the treatment either. The Non-surgical facelift machine DOES require hands-on therapy application, but whilst your g/friend is applying this amazing micro-current technology, she could have another client receiving Rife treatment, which doesn't require her full attention during the specific programme's running time.
Then, as business increases through inevitable excellent word-of-mouth testimonials, she shall be able to afford herself more Rife devices, and thus, more clients whilst she's busy operating her Non-surgical Facelift and whatever else she wishes to indulge in with her hands-on treatments, from ONE CENTRAL POINT ... & not driving around from pillar to post! [:'(] [>:]
I hope this all makes some sense to you Chris!
Now for some marketing .... I'm about to launch a Non-surgical Facelift device with CE certification both locally (SA) and in Europe very shortly.
These should retail in the UK for max 800 GBP each. (Not certain whether this is legal on HP or not????... here goes anyway! [8D] If this isn't permitted, please ONLY delete this part & not the entire post! ;)) I am also a Rife therapist, so can always advise you appropriately on the various brands currently available worldwide.
Your g/friend will soon be able to employ others to perform the Non-surgical facelifts ... and in so doing, build up her collection of both machines.
Well, that's how I see it Chris! ;)
I have been treating people with absolutely phenomenal results with my Rife device for 2 years now, yet haven't charged a penny to date. Crazy hey? [:-] Well, the way I've been viewing it, is that those who require Rife treatment, are in far greater need than those wishing to have an aesthetically more attractive appearance, so that is why I have chosen to incorporate this new 'sphere' of electrotherapy .... and in so doing ... the more
