Reiki 2 - again
Question:

Hi all,
I'm sorry, I just had to post, I wanted to share my excitement! I took Reiki 1 and 2 in 2003, but had a very bad physical reaction straight after my Reiki 2 course. During both of my courses, I didn't get all the lights etc that other people seemed to and decided that perhaps I wasn't destined to offer Reiki.
In March I went to a Reiki day and met some really lovely people. I had a brief discussion about my experiences with the Reiki master there and asked if I could re-do my Reiki 2 to see if that would 'lay the ghost' of what happened the first time around. He said it might, and after some thought I decided to go for it. My course is at the beginning of May and I can hardly wait - I'm soooooo excited at the thought that I might actually be able to use this to help people :) :)
That's all..... I'll let you know how it goes, but I just wondered if anyone else had re-visited their Reiki courses?
With love

Hi Sandie,
As a Reiki Master I'm always re-doing my Reiki courses because, at each lesson I give, I learn something new about Reiki.
Enjoy your repeat lesson. Still don't expect the 'bells and whistles' because you might be one of those people like me who experience nothing during the Attunements but realise, some time afterwards that something has changed within me.
Do not worry about this. You will have - as you already have - Reiki 2 and with level 2 you will have the tools to cope with any reaction that MIGHT occur.
Enjoy yourself and please let us know how you get on.

Hi Tranquiltygirl,
I hope you enjoy your re-attunement, you will learn more I'm sure, as we learn different things from different people...
I just wanted to say though that lots of people go through a powerful healing time through their 21 day clearing after the attunement and even beyond that, please don't judge yourself as not being destined for the Reiki path just because you didn't see lights as some people do.
Reiki is such an individual experience and it's so important to realise this. You are just as capable, if not more so, to do Reiki, as we learn more through our own healing process. You are then able to pass this experience on to others.
It is in my experience with Reiki that it is those who have gone through troubles and come out the other side stronger who make the mosr powerful healers ;)
Enjoy, hope this helps, Love Westwolf x

Hi girl with the long name, I'm sure you'll love it. But don't aim too high, you may be disappointed. As others have pointed out eveyone is different. I have Reiki 1& 2, and the experiences of me and my colleagues during these attunements was very different.
Is it possible that your "very bad physical reaction straight after my Reiki 2 course" was you getting sorted out, your chakras way out of balance for example. After Reiki 1, when giving myself treatments, I managed to paralyse my face completely on a few occasions. This was not pleasant, but I think it was just the healing process. I had been unhappy and stressed, with little to laugh about, and Reiki was helping me to heal.
Have belief in yourself, enjoy it and send me a dose afterwards!! I'll know when I get it.
Love & Reiki,
Jonny

Hi,
Thank you all for taking the time to reply. It is always comforting to know others have had
Jonny, I will definitely send you some Reiki - and I'll try not to paralyse anything! I think I might need a geographical location, so if you could PM me so I have a rough idea where to send it, that may help?

IMO it is a myth that you need to stipulate the name and address of where you want to send distant reiki. If your intent is that the reiki should go to a particular person then it will go there.
Reiki doesn't posess an A-Z! ;)

Agreed, Giles.

I agree with Giles and Pail...
Reiki is an intelligent energy and will go where you intend it to go without being so specific as giving a street address...

Yes I too agree that Reiki does not need an address to go to, such as in geographical location..Intent is the main factor here.Keep the intended person in mind & it will get there. Ive sent Reiki to people the other side of the world & only known they live in America but its still got there. Ive sent Reiki and not had any idea where the person lives & its arrived at its destination. Your intention of this person recieving the Reiki energy is imo enough.

I agree too that the Reiki will go where it is needed and intent is the key.
Good point Maria. Perhaps what Tranquilitygirl is saying is that she feels she needs to have an idea of where the person is in order to connect, I used to be the same. As you say focussing on the person with intent that they receive the healing is all that is needed.
Love and Light and enjoy your re-attunement Tranquilitygirl

Tranquilitygirl...
There is no right or wrong in doing this... If you feel it is easier to direct Reiki energy by using a physical address, then there is nothing wrong with that...
We were only suggesing that Reiki doesn't need specific directions only intent, but if you feel it is easier to direct the energy in the way you do, then that is just fine.

Agreed Amber,
I does concern me that some Reiki Masters still teach that it is necessary to do such things as write the persons name and address and put it with a photo of the person to send healing to and if sending to multiple people these should be put collectively in a box etc. etc.
Of course there is nothing wrong with doing this if that is what a person feels comfortable with. Personally though, I'll stick to the intent.

IMO, it's not necessary, but it can be helpful initially in making the connection. Similarly, using the symbols to send Reiki … helps the newly attuned, but can later be dropped in favour of using intent, with or without a teddy bear, a flower or whatever.
I see nothing wrong in people experimenting to find what works best for them, and adapting procedures as they gain confidence. Some like to work with a ritual, some just do it! When I teach Reiki, I give the options and suggest they try different ways to find which feels most right and comfortable.

Hi Amber & Giles, Holistic
Totally agree with you, I have no idea what many of the people i send healing to look like, I just know they need/want it & then thats enough to set my intent., But as you point out Laura these things can be helpful at first & indeed any time .
I would say to everyone follow your own instinct If you feel you need a prop(for want of a word) then yes use one:).. if you find yourself in a situation where a prop isn't available the do not worry your intent will be enough. Follow YOUR inner guidance.

Giles (and everyone else),
Thank you very much for your comments. My original Reiki Master said that to send distant healing/reiki we needed to know the original name of the person (eg no nicknames or married names) and their exact location. Reading all your comments makes it clearer to me now because I could never understand how you could send Reiki to say, areas of famine if you only had very general details. So hey, fantastic, I can send it all over the place now!!!
Thanks to you all for making this journey so interesting and educational....

There is an old saying being careful what you wish for.
The more precise your intent the more powerful the healing will be.
The energy follows your intent, will and command.
Energy follows thought.
You can never do enough Reiki courses I thoroughly enjoyed doing my reiki ii for a second time and saw it all with a totally different perspective....wonderful....have a great time.
