Most Popular Treatment
Question:

Hi peeps
I`m trying to start up my mobile Beauty Therapy business, and was wondering what the most popular treatment is?
I`m currently studying Reflexology and will be doing an Ear Candling course...
I`m qualified in level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy, Massage, Waxing, facials etc . I was thinking of offering Body Wraps, Fake Tanning, body scrubs... Reflexology and Ear Candling...
confused what to offer? and if i`m offering too much because I have to think about my profit... what if clients want an eyebrow shape which isn`t worth travelling to as there wouldn`t be much money in that... confused.....
Please help

I would say 'facials' would be popular. Why not have a minimum charge for mobile work?

I think it's going to depend on your area and clientel.
In my area, the most popular treatments are: waxing, tinting and nails (man/ped/enhancements)
If a client only wants an eyebrow wax, why not suggest she has a friend over when you visit.
I had a client who started off with an eyebrow wax - maybe about 3-4 miles away? - and after a few treatments, she had other stuff done and invited her friends over, too. Depending on how far away she is, it may be worth your while in the long run.

Hi
Thanks alot for replying, it`s so hard trying to find out what people like and want to pay for....
I might drop waxing as it`s seasonal and not alot of money in that....more Reflexology , Ear Candling, massage, Facials and Fake Tanning......
But thanks alot for your help

Hi,
can't really say about the beauty as I don't do any beauty, all of the treatments I do are Holistic therapies, that said I have a real mixture of them all, but if I had to say the most common request it would be Reflexology or Reiki treatments, but then I guess it may be slightly different to offering alongside beauty as the motivation for asking for the treatment may be different??? I guess the more you have to offer the wider auidience you may appeal to? I still offered most of the same treatments mobile as I do now in the centre, but I guess like you mentioned some treatments may not be cost effective on their own, but it still adds to the customer base, they may have a whole range of treatments if they're happy with the less exspensive ones?

If I were you, I would definately not drop the waxing - it really is one of the most popular treatments.

Hi there
Originally I trained as a nail tech but do waxing, spray tanning, massage, indian head massage. I've rented a room in a hairdressers for 6 weeks now, and so far I've done more waxing than anything. I've also done a few manicures, pedicures, regular back massage and the odd indian head, odd spray tan. So far I've not done any acrylics or gels there.
I guess it depends on the type of clients and the location. I'm sure the waxing will die off when the winter comes, but if I were you I'd keep it going, the outlay is very minimal compared to what you make.

The guild of professional beauty therapists carried out a survey on most popular services and hair removal topped the list, so definitely stick with it! I do sugaring, and whilst I agree it does get busier in the summer because people want more frequent treatments, I keep customers coming throughout the winter as it continues to help diminish the hair growth. I started offering St Tropez airbrush tanning a few years ago and have been really pleased with the results and continued business. And I've now added detox inch-loss body wraps, so would like to do other treatments whilst my client is lying on the couch doing nothing for an hour. I am thinking about doing eyelash tinting and perming, and eventually natural nails.

Hi there
I did both, rented a room then went mobile. I offered spray tanning, manicures, pedicures, nail extensions, facials, waxing, lash and brow treatments, massage etc.
It always seems good to be able to offer lots of different treatments but you end up with your car full of stuff and you have to make sure youhave everything even cables (can't assume the client has one)and beingmobile isn't easy. You have to lug all your stuff about and if you have a client who lives in a flat that's even worse. You can end up tired out by the time you lug your stuff into their house, set it up, do the treatment, pack it all away and take it back to the car. Ideally your best bet is to offer certain treatments on certain days but I doubt it if that would really work out to start with, or better till you do a pamper day for 1 or 2 clients with all the treatments.
(I did that once, but it was a long day!)
Facials, lash, nails, and pedicures were popular. Spray tanning is more difficult unless they have a garage you can do it in.
It wouldn't be worth your while just to go and do an eyebrow wax for 1 person you will have to be specific about the minimum amount, otherwise by the time you work out your petrol, wear and tear on the car, insurance, your time, cost of consumables you've not made a penny.
Another option might be to try and become regular at an oap's home where you might just do an eyebrow shape but for several ladies or instance.
Ifa client rings up for an appointment mention the other treatments you do and suggest you could do more than one treatment for her. You've then put the thought into her mind for next time if she can't do it this time.
I don't do mobile now, I stopped doing anything like this overa year ago now mainly due to moving house etc, but if I were to start again I think renting a room or better still working from home would be better.
Good luck

For me it's remedial massage, although I use a lot of NO Hands Massage when I give a remedial treatment now. I don't do beauty treatments, but do know from colleagues that those who do waxing are busiest with that.

For me, waxing is the most popular my biggest money maker. It's the easiest, the least time-consuming, and people don't mind paying a good price(for you) if the job is done well... I like waxing cause i can fit lots of those into my day.. which means lots more tips too.

You could start wit ha few basic treatments and ask your clientele what others they would like you to offer. You could do a questionare to give clients and give them a 5% discount on their next treatment for completing it and handing it back.
