Question:
Hi
I`m just wondering what deep tissue massage is, is it rounghly the same as swedish massge but with a harder pressure? or do you use a totally different application?
Sorry I`m a bit confused...
Thanks alot

Hi Lindsay,
Deep tissue massage is not the same as Swedish massage. Swedish is of course the foundation though.
Deep tissue is a much deeper form of massage using several advanced techniques including soft tissue release on focused areas to release muscular tension. For example, to get deeper and more beneficial pressures sometimes the forearm or the elbow may be used . It is often used as a combination with other massage styles such as sports or remedial massage.
Does this help?
Best wishes
Hello Lindsay
Deep tissue can also be called 'No Hands Massage' - you use the palm of your hand, arms and elbows rather than fingers etc.
Hope this helps.
Hi:D
Is there any courses I could take, as I already have my level 2 body massage.
Any colleges that would do that?
Thanks alot

Hi Lindsay,
There are plenty of colleges around the country that do Remedial Bodywork and Sports Massage.
Check out the website www.sportsmassageassociation.co.uk. I think that has a list of affiliated colleges on it. Some appear to be better than others though so it's a case of shopping around until you find one that suits you.
Good luck!
