Question:
Hi there
Would like to know what you use to remove hard skin with when doing a pedicure.
Are there any fantastic gadgets out there?
How many beauty therapists or nail techs remove skin with blade? I don't, and the salon owner said all the other therapists she's had a pedicure with do use a blade. I thought you had to be trained to use these and I also thought it made the skin worse?
Regards
Deb
:)
I have heard of a fantastic product called Pedikure for removing hard skin.
It is a cream that you apply and leave on for some minutes - it then devours the hard skin and makes it all squishy (yeah sounds ugh[:'(]) but there is a plastic spatula that you scrape the gooey skin off with, leaving pink fresh new breathable skin underneath.
Have watched it being done on Qvc and it looks fantastic. Planning to get it myself.
Hi Deb,
I dab on Sea Serum from the Creative Nails Spa Pedicure range, which contains some pretty potent AHAs to dissolve the dead skin (I also use it in manicures on calluses for my male clients) - I leave it to work for a few minutes then slough off the softened skin with a file that looks a bit like a grater, and rinse off the excess product. No blades, but the metal "grater" is more effective in my opinion than the pumice-style smoothers.
The file I use can be sanitised -If you would like PM me for more information i will be happy to help.
Hope that helps :)
Andy
