Question:
Hi there,
Does anybody know of an Indian Head Course where you are certified to practice
at the end of it. :)
All i can find at the moment is the long drawn out ITEC Diplomas which are hard when you have to fit them around a full time job and a struggling part time massage business operating only in the evening and at weekends. [:@]
I know that if youve already got your A and P certificate in Body massage some training schools see this as an "add on" qualification and will offer it and you can be insured for it.
Any help would be much appreciated. :D
Tracey.

there are lots of IHM courses around which do not require A&P in fact it is not a requisite.
www.meridianhealing.co.uk
is my website for details or you can search HP search for someone closer to you.
I am in Hanley Stoke on trent
Thank You

How about Warrington? Is that any good for you? Can give you details of VTCT course which runs over two weekends.
the ITEC one changed about 18 months ago and is really in-depth now with a written paper and practical at the end (I agree - it's over the top). Having said that, I do think that a and p should be a pre-requisite OR you should have to be a hands-on therapist already. Reason I say this is that when I did mine - most weren't and it was absolutely scarey what they did when they got their hands on you. Sorry, but I don't think it's on, and they shouldn't be let loose on the unsuspecting public coz it only gives the rest of us a bad name.;)
Hi have you thought about trying the Manchester School of Massage, I know they cover IHM at VTCT level and tend to have various courses running throughout the year. They might have something that fits in with you.
Wish you well
J
I trained at the Central Manchester College (Piccadilly). The course costs £50 + VAT and is a 1 day course and runs on either a Saturday or Sunday from 10am to 4pm. After completing the course and submitting 6 case studies you are qualified to offer treatments and obtain insurance. You will receive a CMC certificate in Indian Head Massage which I am pleased to say is recognised by the FHT. They have other 1 day courses available with prices starting at £50 + VAT.
