Hi Everyone
I am looking for someone to give me Reiki I & II attunements but not sure where to look for someone. I live in Fife, Scotland. I have looked on the web loads but can only find people offering reiki healing but not attunements although have found loads on distance attunement. Having no experience or knowledge, I don't want to pay out the money for distance attunement in case it doesn't work.
I want to learn to use Reiki for personal healing - I read somewhere that Reiki can be used for healing things that happened in the past. My husband died in a bad car accident just over two years ago and it's left me and my whole family torn to pieces and we are still trying to deal with the loss and associated grief. Can I really use Reiki to help heal me emotionally?

also do have a look at EFT (emotional freedom techniques), there is a fair bit in our mind therapies section and there is a free manual you can download at www.emofree.com

I'm so sorry to hear of your sad loss. You're quite right, Reiki can be sent to heal the past, and you don't even need to have Reiki 2 for this.
Have you looked through the directory at the top of this forum - I had a quick look just now and thought I spotted someone in your area but (sorry [&o]) I'm not that wonderful on geography.
Something for you to consider when you are talking to Reiki Masters - perhaps discuss whether to do Reiki 1 and 2 together, or separately with a bit of time between the two. Together might be just what's needed ... or perhaps a bit much. See what your own intuition tells you on this one. ;)There are several threads on this forum on this topic, with a variety of opinions.
I just want to add that I feel, regardless of the money aspect, that attunement(s) in person may possibly be more appropriate to your special circumstances than distance attunements, although they do work. You know ... the personal touch.

yes, Reiki is very good for dealing with all sorts of emotional issues and I'm sure it would help you with your sad loss. Best advice I can give is to speak to whoever you come to and get a treatment so you will know whether that particular teacher is the right one for you or not.

As fo finding a Reiki master, there are quite a few Reiki teachers from Scotland in this forum. Have you looked at the HP directory?
Distant attunements work just as well as in person ones. Just make sure the perosn you choose, if you want to go that route, gives e-mail support after the attunement.

Just a quick message to all of those who offered to send some reiki to me and my family. I just don't know when things are going to get better, yesterday my dad was rushed into hospital with a ruptured hernia! However, he's had his op now and hopefully will have a speedy recovery.
As for me.. well as well as losing my husband, i had a bad fall last year when I moved into my new house - sold our marital home as it was too hard to stay there on my own. Anyway, I didn't break anything but tore major ligaments in my ankle - and guess what I am still in agony only it got much worse yesterday! So if anyone would like to do some distance reiki on my ankle it would be much appreciated.

Reiki being sent to your ankle, your father and your situation, Veronica.
May I also send Reiki energy to you and your situation? It sounds as if major changes are taking place to put things into motion for you at sometime in the future. A member of HP has the words 'you have to walk through the rain to find the rainbow' or words to that effect which I found comforting, I hope they help you too.
