Question:
Hi everyone - my aunt who is in her eighties and suffers with chest problems is having problems with aching legs and cramps at night. She refuses to go out and has gone within herself over the past 6 months. I have suggested that it could be because she sits in the chair most of the day and is not getting any exercise. I thought about making a blend of lavender and camommile up for her to rub on her legs. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Rose.....firstly have you made sure her legs are not swollen or red in area make sure she is not brewing a dvt(dont want to alarm you).Give her some gentle exercises to do of a morning rotating the ankle etc. Those oils are lovely but you could also include some rosemary in there i have had some great results with a lady with ms who had this problem i used gentle oils to start but the rosemary worked wonders with these 2 oils. x
....as long as she doesn't have high blood pressure.

Is she on a multivit/min supplement for her age group, and drinking plenty of water? Cramps are aften a result of the salts (eg sodium/potassium) balance in the system. Does she add salt to her food?
Bananas are said to help as they contain potassium.
It might be an idea to look at her medication - cramps may be a side- effect of something she's taking.
