Question:
Hi
Can anyone please recommend a suitable CD for massage. I am looking for something with all the tracks slow and calming. Preferably not Piano music. I have some Enya, which I find great and would like something along those lines. I find a lot of CD's have a mixture of fast and slow, but my clients and myself like be be slow and relaxed!
Dotted around the forums there are several threads that discuss music for massage with recommendations in. A personal fave of mine at the moment is 100,000 Angels by Bliss. Its absolutely lovely!!

Thank you Mat, that's a great help. I shall have a shop around for the CD. If it sounds anything like the title is should be just what I'm looking for. I'll also take a look around the threads.
hi bjay
I normally play frdrik karlsson's "magical treatments' & "total tranquility" during massage treatments. they are bit bland but i've had a couple of great feed back from people i've massaged : One of my personal favourites is classic chill outs.....and Anigma....

I love that one mat ,BLISS.........saw them in concert at the brama kumaris centre in oxford.abs wonderful....."do you hEAR meeeeeee calllinnnggg youuuuuuuuuu....the voice of an angel....byyyy yourr sidddeeee" sorry cant find my cd and miss it xxxxxxxx
I have various Classical Chillout albums, and a particular favourite of mine is Buddhist Chants and Peace music. I also have some Ibiza Chillout, and some New Age Dolphins/Whales/Rainforest etc.
I tend to ask the client of they have any preference - classical is not everyones cup of tea after all.
I also thought that new one advertised "Renaissance" sounds beautiful - anyone got that yet?

I absolutely love the Feel Good Collection by Fridrik Karlsson, I went mad at a trade show last weekend and bought the rest of the collection. They have some super tracks and the other students in my group call me DJ now as I bring some along every week and they really enjoy listening to them. When the stall has been at fairs and shows, they usually do some offers such as the more you buy the more you save, which is great for me as I saved nearly £20 at the weekend!!!

I've managed to 'borrow' my husband's The Best of Clannad. It's a double album and I played the first CD all last week and the second CD this week. I've had loads of compliments from my clients.

Thanks Guys for all your helpful suggestions, I shall 'set to' immediately on my hunt for them.
Any of Lewellyn's therapy tracks seem to work well for massage. I know that many people dont like natural sounds in massage CD's as they can be distracting but I find that the Yoga CD is marvellous for getting people to tune out of their everyday mindset. If you get a client that hates new age music then I have found that Zero 7's first album or Air's music are very good for massage ( but sometimes a bit pacey). And I agree 100,000 angels is very lovely and fits inbetween the two categories!
Hey Fozzyo,
Where can you get that cd from sounds good?

My two best massage CDs are 'Journey to the Angels' by Llewellyn (NWCD 521) and Birds Awakening - 2 / Le Réveil des Oiseaux - 2, a French CD of the morning chorus - 12 tracks / 65'00, issued when I got it on Sittelle 24409 but it may have be relicensed now. It was recorded by Jean C. Roché and is a real gem.
The Llewllyn has gorgeous vibes, I think it was conceived as a sort of musical guided meditation but I think it's very healing and relaxing as massage music. It's 51 mins long.
I also use 2 soundscapes from a CD company called WILDSONG - one is called "a'mhoine" and the other "Dawn Chorus"; also a lovely Rainforest one from Laserlight 12 251.
Be careful when shopping - a lot of nature CDs are only 20 mins or so long, which is obviously maddening when you're massaging unless you put it on a loop.
Happy hunting
love and light

PS I know the Llwellyn one so well, I can use it to ensure I'm on track for a full body massage in 50 mins - ie "here's the whalesong bit so I should be on the glutes...":D
Thanks Karen,
Will order that :)
