Question:
I am just starting to try to conceive my first child and I suffer from migraines quite frequently. These used to just be pre menstrual but since coming off the pill have been experiencing them more often.
As I am trying to conceive I am reluctant to pump myself full of nasty pills and thought I might try another way of dealing with them. I am also interested in knowing whether reflexology can aid conception and if so, can the treatments for migraine and conception be done at the same time or I am better off going for Indian Head Massage for migraines? I have a lot of questions as I have never had any treatments before!
One last thing, does anybody know of any good practitioners in Warwick/Leamington Spa area?

You have already identified that your migraines are probably hormone related and this is quite a common cause of migraine.
Reflexology is excellent for hormone balance, so will help deal with the underlying cause of the problem. It will also help your body get back to normal after coming off the pill and ensure optimum well being for a healthy pregnancy. I am not an IHM practitioner, but can tell you that reflexology provides stress relief and works on ALL the organs of the body and body systems including the head, neck, shoulders, endocrine and reproductive, so I am sure it will be very beneficial.
Many women who have had difficulty conceiving have used reflexology with good results.
Try looking in the directory on this site for practitioners in your area.

Thanks for the advice, I think I am going to opt for reflexoloy, like you say, I think my migraines are hormonal and perhaps this would be the better route to go consiering I am trying to conceive and a hormonal balance might help this!
gotta say i'd recommend reflex too. (lol and not just cos i do it!). i do hear people say IHM can be a little to stimulating anyway if you are a migraine sufferer. always sounds like it will be good but you can never tell.
