Question:
I notice we have a dog/cat thread heppening in general discussion but I thought I would post this here as someone might be able to enlighten me.
I have two cavalier king charles spaniels (Molly & Maisy) and they are SO interested in my crystals. I'm sure all you dog lovers will know how they react when you get the biscuit tin out - well my girls are like that when I get my crystals out 'to play'. Molly, who is pregnant, has really taken a liking to a large piece of rose quartz and becomes quite grumpy if I try to put it away. Maisy doesn't seem to have a special crystal but likes to generally sniff them all and stare at them.
Now as I am a softie where my dogs are concerned I have let Molly have the pink quartz for her bed and she treats it like one of her toys. She doesn't bite it but can often be found licking it.
Now my question is, is this a normal reaction of animals to crystals ?
Love and best wishes
Maureen
Oh Maureen
You have no idea...normal oh yes, yes, yes....my [sm=cat.gif] adores crystals and will beat me upstairs to my therapy room just to lay on one of my crystals...its a rather large bed of quartz & calcite and she just loves it to bits....
if I leave crystal points down on the floor she will hunt them out & just curl up and sleep on them... as for the [sm=dogrun.gif][sm=dogrun.gif] well they sniff at them...then guard them, just in case someone wants to come and pinch them... it's quite funny to watch them sometimes.
Not sure about 'licking' the crystal....Rose quartz is quite gentle and safe...but I would be very careful with the licking...just in case she decided to eat it[:'(] she has good taste though...as she's pregnant...the nurturing aspect of the crystal is just perfect for her:)

Hi Maureen:)
Yes very normal. I have a treatment room at my mothers, and I keep a lot of crystals there. Her dog who usually does as shes told will always go in my room and lay there all day if allowed unless the door is shut. When anyone comes for a crystal treatment we have to shut her out or she will get there first[sm=dogrun.gif]. She doesn't do this with any other treatments. I have now let her pick her own crystal which she has by her bed. But she loves it if I do a crystal layout for her she just lays down in the centre and goes to sleep. I guess she knows what she needs better than us. I have a friend whos cat [sm=cat.gif]loves nothing better than lay on the shelf she keeps her crystals and wrap herself around them. Perhaps we should all listen more to our pets we may learn a lot?

Hi Stormdeva
OK so I have lost my lovely big piece of rose quartz - no way is Molly having that taken from her bed. When its in her bed she settles down quickly and sleeps well but try taking it away (well her need is greater than mine). She is going through that 'I'm not feeling right and I don't want to eat phase' it usually happens to them in week 3/4 of the pregnancy. However I did coax her into eating a scrambled egg today and a little goat's milk.

Hi Anjil
Glad to know my dogs are quite normal in their love of crystals. I am sure you are right when you say that we should listen to our pets. They seem to know, by instinct, what we need to be told.

Hi Fiona
Now I know you are a dog lover, I love the photos of your dog - she is a beauty. Wish I knew how to put mine on the forum but basically I am an IT idiot. When the puppies arrive (17 November) I will ask a 'computer genius friend' to help me put a photo or two for all to see
Love
Maureen

Doesn't she look beautiful ? I love the red coat - better not let Molly and Maisy see (by the way Maisy is Molly's mum) or they will want one. I guess in your part of the country she needs a coat but here in Bristol the temperature is very mild, we hardly ever get a frost so really they don't need one. A friend bought them each a coat about 2 years ago but it has never been cold enough for them to wear them.
Love to you and Bella

You can give your pets a good healing with a crystal, they'll love it and get very relaxed. The same goes for your plants, placing a crystal into the earth will make them grow even better.
Hi Marijke
I'm sure you are right and judging from my dogs response to crystals I think they would appreciate crystal healing.
The problem is that I have only just started my crystal course so am not very knowledgeable about them as yet. Don't be surprised to find me asking all sorts of questions as I progress through the course

Maureen
Looking forward to it Maureen....until then...just carry on enjoying:)

Hi!
I have a Great Dane. I learned their average life span is 6-8 years. Morgan turned 9 in June. She is having a bladder problem. I am treating her with some meds from the vet, but they don't seem very effective. Her problem is that she seems to have become incontenent. She wets herself almost every time she sleeps. She has slept with me ever since she was a pup and it has become very difficult. I've tried disposable diapers, but she acts like she's being punished, pouts and won't even look at me.
Also, I am disabled and in very poor health. Perhaps crystals could help both of us.
So, any suggestions? I would love to learn about crystals. I am also an avid gardner, my passion. I would love to learn more about crystals and plants. Could you point me in the right direction where I could learn more about it? Some good books or web sites?
Thanks, for any help, advice or suggestions anyone might have.
