Question:
Hi all!
I hope some one can help, Candie are you there?;)
My lovely friend has agreed to be a reflexology "victim" for me.
She is currently in the early stages of the Menopause, and suffering badly.
She does not want HRT if she can avoid it, but is suffering extreme hot flushes day and night. She can cope(just) with the daytime flushes, but the nights are getting her down.
She wakes several times during the night and is becoming exhausted. I have seen for myself how severe they are, and I feel so bad for her[&o]. I really want to help
Does any one have any suggestions for her reflexology treatments,is it better to give twice weekly treatments? I would be very gratefull for any tips.
thanks
Sorry, not Candie, but perhaps I can help.
You need to concentrate on the ovary, and uterus linking to the pituitary. Thyroid to pituitary as well. Also solar plexus, link to forebrain and work the spine well forebrain to L5 link.
We've covered linking before so you may find the thread but if you cant let me know.
I can sympathise with her, I take soy isoflavines with black cohosh which helps as much as HRT used to. Use soya with caution if any thyroid prob. As to frequency, its all down to whether she can attend. Twice weekly would be ideal, for a few weeks. Wish I could have twice weekly treatments:)
Jan
Thanks Jan
I have not done linking, so will look for that thread, maybe I should look for a decent book on the subject, as we have not covered it in college.
Shame you don't live near me, you would be welcome to a couple of treatments a week.
;)
Thanks again[sm=nature-smiley-008.gif]
Do you know that in several far eastern languages there is no word for menopause because it occurs so infrequently? I heard it about Chinese then checked with a Vietnamese friend, it's true !! It is put down to the soya based diet instead of the western wheat based foods. It is also a fact that as rich Chinese kids can afford to eat junk food they suffer ailments like western kids, the poor ones are OK.
Maybe a switch of diet for a while would help? Dump bread and eat noodles !!
Best wishes, :)
John
I'm sorry La T, I've realised now that as a student you would not have covered linking, that comes later, so for now you would be better to concentrate on the pituitary, thyroid, spine, uterus and ovaries, which will all be very beneficial, dont worry about linking at all. Particularly as you have to write up case studies as you have been taught to date, and your tutor may not be pleased. The thing with the menopause is that it is a natural event in womens lives and caused by the fluctuations in hormone levels but we can help with the symptoms.
You can still do your own bit of research into advanced techniques for future reference, but its best to get really familiar with the basics first.
I wish I lived near you too:)

Thanks John and Jan!
I heard somewhere else that menopause is a western affliction, so will definatly keep in mind the soya idea.
As to linking, I had a book out of the college library, Precision reflexology?
I thought it was a great book, and am considering buying a copy, although I am going to take your advice Jan and concentrate on the basics for the time being.
Thanks again to you both.
