Question:
Hi everyone
After over a year of contemplating whether to do Reiki or not as a practitioner - I have finally decided that this is the way I need to go. I've done the website (not yet published) and a leaflet,yet the scary thought haunts me - what if the client doesn't feel anything and I charge them????? I just can't shake it off my mind - I have done treatments on others and they were great and effective(not charging) I've done one on my husband who claims to have felt absolutely nothing! I myself have had amazing experiencing with Reiki, yet I'd feel such a fraud, if the client didn't have any experience of some kind, even just feeling relaxed.
Please, can I have a few words of encouragement from all you guys out there who are doing Reiki successfully?

The main thing is not to put pressure on yourself,the more you relax the more you will give and the more the client will recieve.Its also important to remember that some people trying reiki are not as open to it-because of their own concerns sometimes.
Within the first few clients you will find your feet and get used to a routine that suits you,try and make them feel as comfortable as possible and explain what you will do and what they may or may not feel-this prepares them and helps them relax into the treatment quicker.Good luck and just go with your intuition.

You'll have nothing to worry about.
Believe it will work and it will. Don't create a situation for yourself in your mind that hasn't happened. If anything ever should happen, you can just politely offer them their money back (and then you don't have to give them another treatment which will be their loss).
With most people, just going along to someone who is a "professional" in their field and having someone to offload their problems to and being given the opportunity to just lay down, relax and forget about things for an hour, will be enough for them even if they don't feel anything from the reiki itself. At least you believe in your reiki and you'll know that they're receiving it.
Have confidence in yourself and the client will pick up on that confidence and believe in you as you believe in yourself.

Not everyone is sensitive to the energies, so you do need to mentally prepare yourself for that one.
That does not stop the energy treatment being effective it just makes it boring for the healee, so consider yourself well and truly encouraged :-)))))

Well I havn't practiced Reiki I am only just about to go on a course. But by the sounds of it you are good. I think you just need to have more confidence in yourself and just trust....

You are responsible for giving the (paying) client a Reiki treatment, not for the cleint feeling anything. Remember that the Reiki flows even if no one feels anything.
Want to know an anectode? When I attuned my very first paying Reiki student, neither of us felt anything... I was just hoping that what I had been told about energy flowing anyway was true for attunements too!! One needs to start at some point...

I read on this Reiki forum that someone else charged clients for their time, rather than for receiving Reiki. I think if you possibly think along those lines then it may help to take the pressure off you for people not 'feeling' anything.
I have reiki I and at the moment I hope to come to the decision that you have - you said you 'need' to do this. I feel like this is a homecoming for me, like I know this is what I am meant to do.
My Reiki master started her business from Reiki I, treating members of the public. I asked her (before my attunement), if at that stage was she 'qualified' to treat people at that level? Now I see that I am powerful with my Reiki and that it doesn't matter if you are 'just level I' (my old opinion) it is as powerful as it is. Hope this makes sense.
You know that you have had feedback from people who you are not charging which has been positive, and why should this change when you receive money? This is just my opinion but please try to relax and go with the flow, believe in yourself and you can do anything.
