Question:
Hi there!
I am hoping someone can help me with this as I am struggling a bit to find assistance!
Basically I have a number of fears which cause me a great deal of anxiety, they range from fear of failure, to fear of being attacked by a large, dark, malicious, unknown entity leading to fear of the dark and of being alone.
Although I dont experience acute symptoms regularly, I have had some bad panic attacks because of this, and sometimes have to sleep with the light on (at age 30!!). Basically I want to KNOW the reason behind them, rather than just clear the symptoms.
I am a person who needs to go to the root source of the problem in order to heal it completely, and I am not sure that EFT does this, so am hoping for help in other ways.
I have already posted alongside Icandy regarding past life regression in the northwest area, and feel that this therapy would probably benefit me the most as I have many unanswered questions.
Part of my problem is the NEED to know, I just cant figure out why I feel this way, but it is probably related to the fact that over the last year I have learnt so much about myself and WHY i act and behave the way I do, whether positively or negatively, I feel that I can only change the behaviour if I KNOW what caused it in the first place.
SOme of my fears are really holding me back right now. I have major issues about trusting in the unknown, and find that even though I am desperate to live a spiritually rewarding life, I cant even bring myself to meditate, journey or visualise on my own for fear of being vulnerable to the attack of something sinister.
It is ridiculous in my logical mind, and I have tried to come up with all sorts of explanations to help ease my anxieties, but when I am alone at night, hearing all sorts of sounds, etc, my mind goes into overdrive and i end up panicking..I cant stand that feeling of the adrenaline and fear flowing around my body, it makes me feel physically sick!
Please if anyone can offer me some advice, I would be very grateful.
I want to operate and live as a normal human being, having boundaries and limits that do not suffocate my development.
One thing I will say is that I have had visions about being on a spiritual path before (past life) but that something really horrible happened to me because of it and something went wrong........(would explain my absolutely abhorrent fear of all things religious and spiritual up until my own awakening about a year ago!!)
thanks for listening, it is good to finally bring it up for healing.

Hi tigereye,
TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique) may help you.
Unlike EFT, you don't have to be precise with your problem.
For example, "I don't know why I've got this anixety..." etc
While you are going through the process, you might get an insight exactly where your problem originated. (forgotten memory etc).

Hi Tigereye
how about writing the question down eg 'why do I get these panic attacks.' 'what is the reason behind thses fears'
Write the question with your usual hand
Then let your other hand write the answer, which will come from your subconscious
This might be more helpful than a past life regression at first ,as when I do a past life session for someone I lead them into deep relaxation first.
Then you need to trust the unknown to begin with, and if the unknown is fear inducing, you are blocked at step one.
This could lead you round in cirlces.
You say you need to know why, rather than have the fear released ..what might happen if the fear were dissolved, without you knowing the cause

EFT can get to the root cause of the problem, it depends on how it's used, and I think if it's used in conjunction with TimeLine(tm) Therapy it most certainly will get to the root.
*shouts* DEZ! DEZ! this is one for you! :D
Hiya
EFT can and does get to the root of the the problem, as Giles says, but is not the only thing that can help. As also mentioned above, Time Line is great, as are a few other NLP techniques. EmoTrance, TAT, BSFF and Freeway are also great at dealing wiht these issues. Then there are the more common things like hypnotherapy and counselling. So, luckily, you have a plethora of techniques to choose from. In my opinion, one of the best is indeed EFT, but EmoTrance is as effective and just as rapid and long lasting. These two can also be extremely effective over the phone too.
What I use a lot of to get to the root cause, is muscle testing. This confirms for you which of your issues are giving you the biggest problem and in which order they have to be tackled. It also confirms for you which treatment will best serve the purpose of dealing with it for you. There is no point trying one treatment if your body does not want it, so test first and find out.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
You have a couple of suggestions here as to a way forward for you. I would like to suggest something else you may like to consider.
Have you thought of counselling - in particularly person-centred counselling. Person-centred counselling differs from analytical counselling in that the therapist's approach comes from the belief that the only person who has the answer to your problem is you. You will not be analysied, told what to do etc etc. The counsellor is trained to "step into your world" and to accompany you on your journey as you talk, and to 'bounce back' to you what you have said so that you get a clearer picture of yourself. This can be very powerful as the counsellor can pick up on a feeling or sense that is only at the edge of your own consciousness and help bring it into focus. By doing this, you get a clearer picture of yourself and what is troubling you, and find your own solutions to it.
I hope you find something that suits you and that you work out your problems as you wish.
Regards,
Chilled Bunny.
Hi everyone,
thanks for the advice!
Sorry have not replied sooner as have not had regular access to PC lately!!
I am hopefully starting a new job soon, so will be able to afford some sort of therapy, so I will look into this.
can anyone recommend therapists in the cheshire/merseyside area?
once again, thanks for the feedback. I realise now that I am going to have to apply an element of trust in the unknown anyway, for the therapy to work, so yes perhaps that will be my first point of call before anything else can be done.
blessings to all!
