Question:
Hello every.
I am wanting to do a artificial nail course. I actually started one in harrogate a vctc. Due to moving to yarm am unable to continue. Are the short courses as good. The vctc drags for 30 weeks and most of it you learn when doing man and ped.
Does anybody know of any courses near yarm? also
what products do you recomend using. Most people I have asked say creative - are these the best?
I have so many more questions but I leave them for now.
Cheers x
creative are certainly one of the brand leaders and, i think, the best because they offer life-long training. There are always new techniques and products and I don't think it's right to do a four day course and then start calling yourself a nail technician for the rest of your life.
If you do decide to do a short course, then I would definitely opt for creative as they teach everything, right from the basics. I learned more there than I did at college (I was there for three years, although I only did enhancements for about 6 months). With creative, they also ensure that their educators are trained every year - you are only an educator for a year, if you do not update your skills, then you aren't allowed to teach.
I think what you would be best to do, before you make the commitment of choosing one brand when you are so inexperienced, is to get a trial kit from all of the companies you would like to use. Also, give the head offices a ring and ask them as many questions as you want.
Phew, didn't mean for that to be so long!
Whatever you decide to do, good luck, and I'm always here if you ned a little help :) (or you could try thenailgeek.com - fantastic members with zillions of knowledge!)
