Question:
Hello,
I have a very mildly sticky eye sometimes on a morning (not inflamed or serious enough to want to see my GP or put pharmaceutical drops in it)...
A lady I used to work with suggested I bathe it with tea. I realise that different teas have hugely differing properties, so I asked her what kind of tea. "Any tea", she said.
This was too vague for my liking though, so I have yet to do as she suggests!
Could anyone advise me on this?
Thanks very much!
Gavin
Chamomile tea is very soothing. Make some up, add some cool water and store in the fridge.
Also for sticky eyes, bathe with salt water. However, if this doesn't heal in a few days, I would reocmmend you see a doctor for some drops.

Thanks very much for that Lesley -- I'll give it a try!
Hi Gavin,
Bathing sticky eyes with tea is an old remedy and one which my Mother in Law swears by especially for new babies. I have to say that I never really thought it was a good idea until she finally convinced me to try it with my second child and it worked a treat. She always used good old fashioned PG Tips although I did leave out the milk and sugar!
