slightly o/t - colours to go with gold/brown
Question:

slightly o/t - colours to go with gold/brown
not fashion exactly, but as it's colour scheme related I thought I'd ask all of you lot. This christmas I want to treat myself and get rid of the last remnants of the Ex and move on. the main thing I want to do is to banish him from the bedroom - that means getting a whole new look. I cant afford much more than paint, curtains and a new bedspread, but that's enough to create something fresh IMO. I have to keep my blinds which are old gold coloured metal, and really expensive. I also cant afford new furniture so I have to stick with the antique Pine bed and units.
what colours would look really fab with my gold and pine room?:D
(sorry - forgot to say it's currently browns and creams):o

How about shades of green - teal, torquoise etc? Or a deep purple/aubergine colour? I would probably have cream walls (but then I'm boring that way!) with either or both of those colours in a lovely swirly/circle duvet and curtains, rugs and prints on the walls?

I was going to suggest deep purples too :D
I have a pale cream room- walls and carpets and have a cream cotton duvet set which is trimmed with aubergine/ purple satin stripes from primark- lots of matching cushions, throws etc in there too in deep purples :cmdunno: can't explain it very well, here's a pic of the bronze/ gold set in my spare room

Moog=nemesis - you clearly have great taste! ;)
Kwills - I have something the same idea where I have kept my whole room plain and use the bedding (and a rug, cushions and a couple of prints) as an accent. That way you can change the colours around a lot. Although I do also have emerald green kiddies bedroom furniture which brightens it up a bit too! :p
