Do you think that ebay contributes to lots of stuff being out of stock in the shops?
I've been wanting to buy some Bobbi Brown limited edition makeup, but it's all gone in the shops, likewise with black Chanel nail varnish. It's the same with a lot of clothes that get featured in the style sections of the weekend papers. Plus most of the great sale items on NAP have already gone
However log onto to ebay, and it's all there quite merrily for ridiculous amounts of money. Chanel varnish is selling at double the price in some instances and a lot of sellers seem to have a "stock" of popular items.
Do you think shops should be limiting to one per customer of these "must have items"? Cos it's annoying as hell to find some of my potential Christmas presents sold out already.

Hmmm ...I dunno, I don't think Ebay alone is to blame. Some people just stock up on makeup items I guess as well as the people buying to make a profit on Ebay.
Yeah, there's got to be people stocking up on things too, but nail varnish for example lasts me ages and by the time I finish a bottle (I rarely do) I want to be wearing something new.
Just annoys me when I can't buy things I like for the RRP and I think eBay is partly to blame for that.
I have to admit to buying multiples of certain makeup sets, I collect the dior limited edition sets, so always buy two - one to keep and one to use. Lots of makeup counters have customer cards which they use to maildrop regular customers when certain products come into stock etc. I was on first name bases with the dior SA in my local debenhams :hucks:
