Shop assistants fight back!
Okay I'm sick of reading rants about SAs - yes, there are some shite shop assistants out there but I am 100% positive there are more rude, stupid or otherwise obnoxious customers :D
So who works in a shop and fancies a rant :heyhey:
My biggest gripe currently is people coming in to ask if we sell Jean Paul Gaultier perfume, Elemis spa treatments (do they even exist?!) or yardley talcum powder :mad: All of these enquiries will start pretty general - "Do you sell Perfume?" and when I say why yes, I do they reply "Do you sell JPG/chanel/lacoste?" :banghead:
Does that enormous sign above the door not say The Body Shop? Have we turned into a department store overnight? Rah :mad:
I have met some absolutely wonderful SAs, it has to be said. But as a generalisation, they work in the lower to mid range of high street stores. It's the arrogance of SAs in designer shops or high end department stores that get my goat.
If you are anywhere near as wonderful, inspiring and helpful in TBS as you are on the boards, you can be SA of the Year, FP! :kiss:

You see I had great chats with all the SAs in Harvey Nicks and Selfridges - but then rude SAs just get shot down by me. Being a SA gives you high expectations of customer service. I felt like whipping out a duster on the counters in Selfridges - the testers were filthy :eek: :head:
when i worked at river island, ppl treated up like shite, but i always did my best to be as polite and helpful as possible...
some customers were strange though, i once had a customer come in and ask me for a very specific design of t-shirt. like a green t-shirt with some man on it. (can't remember what exactly, was a while ago now!)
anyways, i was like no i dont think we have it? did you see it in a magazine or do you have a picture?
she was like no i saw a girl wearing it in the street just wondered if it was from here...
