Question:
O/T help me with my ponderings....
I am alone in the office today but if you were here, I would be asking you the following...
I hate my fringe apart from when the hairdressers blow dry it. When I do it, although I get it straight and the cow lick is under control, it seems thinner and fluffier. I want it to be heavy and smooth, what products should I use?
I've seen a wicked pair of new Paul smith shoes in my boy's size on ebay. Should I snipe them? He did mention that he wanted a black pair of shoes in this style but has been looking for a cheaper pair with no success. What should I do? I am sure he would like them but they are quite expensive and I have already spent quite a bit on him so if I got them, that would probably be his lot for Christmas. . . . . . .
My parents are coming for dinner. I can't be arsed to cook. There are a few things in the freezer, a Tesco finest fish pie (which my Dad loves) and a couple of morrocan lamb stew things. what could I serve with the pie as there isn't enough for 3 on its own. If I went with the stew, what would I serve with that? It has chick peas and green beans in it from the pic on the box?
What do you think ladies?
Hey Blonde
I would answer as follows:
With your fringe try some Lee Stafford Shine On stuff (not too much), it will give your hair some weight. I only suggest this because it's one of the only hair products I own :o I'm crap at usingt hem and never find one that does what I want, so I kind of gave up buying them, and now I pinch my boyfriend's from time to time just to play around with
Personally I wouldn't buy the shoes, as I like to give (and receive) lots of smaller presents.Unless it's a really definitive style that you/he just won't be able to get elsewhere.
For dinner I'd do the morroccan lamb (purely because I love lamb, and morroccan food), and I'd serve it with cous cous and garlic new potatoes (you can use tinned drizzled with olive oil and garlic pepper for quickness)
Hey Blonde
I'm off work sick today so I'll happily help you out with your ponderings!! Ok,
1. what brush are you using to blow dry your fringe? have you tried a small paddle brush are suchlike? Also, maybe a very light serum will help you get a less fluffy fringe? I sometimes use an Alterna one (which was stupidly expensive and I can't remember for the life of me what it's called!) - but ol' Charlie Worthington seems to do pretty good styling products. Put about a 5-10 pence piece size in your hand, run through all your hair whilst damp, and then blow dry your fringe with the flat / paddle brush.
2. If you can afford the shoes comfortably and you haven't got any other ideas for Mr B, maybe you should go for them!! If you are sure he'll like them and wear them, go for it!!! :D
3. I'm still pondering over the fish pie myself - but how about doing some roasted vegetables with the moroccan lamb stew? Rough chop some root veggies and potatoes etc (you may want to part boil before roasting), drizzle with olive oil and some herbs and garlic and roast.
I'll get back to you if I have any more inspiring ideas!!
Thanks for the hair suggestions. I have the Lee Stafford stuff and I can get some CW minitures to experiment. I don't really use products, I expect too much from my hair at times.
I'm going to go with the lamb. I didn't even think about doing cous cous so I will do that and then get a tray of roasting veg to go with it. Excellent plan. Would bread be required for this meal?
The shoes. I'm torn as they are ending soon. I have bought him loads of little bits and peices. I think he would get a lot of wear out of them as he has similar ones in brown that he wears a lot. I'd hate him to wake up on Christmas morning though and hate his shoes?
hey Blonde,
1. Sorry I am not much help as I don't have one but what does your hairdresser use to blowdry your fringe? It could be worth asking him/her to give you a quick lesson howto?
2. I say nay on the shoes but for cultural reasons - where I come from it's bad luck to give ppl shoes (and watches and sharp objects). Shoes means they'll walk away from you, watches mean death and sharp objects sever ties. Probably old wives tales, but in fact I've lost touch with a lot of ppl who I've gifted shoes/watches (I don't ever give sharp objects). So I don't do it anymore, just in case
3. Err, I don't cook. But lambstew and couscous is lovely! and roast veggies.
