Question:
My first horrible comment on Style Diary!
Hi everyone
Since starting my SD I've had some lovely comments from random people (Germans mostly for some reason! )
Anyway, I've just had my first negative comment and I feel :boohoo: ! This girl just messaged me about one of my Dari Meya dresses (the one like the Kate Moss one) saying that she had wanted to buy it from ASOS but after seeing it on me she wouldn't bother and that it looked too tight! It definitely isn't the loosest piece of clothing I own, or my favourite ever dress, but I definitely don't think it's too tight as trust me, I don't wear anything that is remotely uncomfy eg: heels!
I'm a bit gutted as I was all excited opening up my message and then that!
Not fishing for compliments, btw, just needed to vent! I suppose I expected some criticisms, and I'm mad at myself that I am really unable to deal with it. I've had low self-esteem most of my life. I have had eating disorders in the past and been a size 6, a size 16 and everything inbetween. Am still very down on myself most of the time but trying to stop that! Anyway, enough of the deep and meaningfuls! Anyone else experienced similar? Tell me I'm not the only hyper-sensitive one!
Aw, Rainbow_Brite, some people can be so thoughtless with the way they say things!:( I know it's easy to say, but please try not to let it bother you. I bet you it was someone who looked at your pics and felt jealous so thought they'd send you a catty comment. I don't know... girls are horrid!!:head:
For what it's worth, I had a look at your SD so I could see what you were referring to, and you look absolutely lovely in all your outfits. I know you're not fishing for compliments, but I think it's quite clear that this person is just not very nice and probably is a bit envious.
Don't let it ruin your day chick
xx
there just jealous it looks lovely on you.
And they were obviously never told that 'if you don't have anything to say don't say anything at all'
Thanks Miss Kittie. :)
Going to stop being so silly and forget all about it! I did think she was trying to be constructive and I was taking it too seriously, but maybe you're right. I wish I could be less bothered about what other people think! :cmdunno:
Oh, and I've just remembered a gay guy who I used to go to uni with would always look me up and down EVERY day, make me feel really self-conscious about myself and say things like, 'What's with that belt?' and 'Sort your hair out love'! I was friends with him, but he seemed to pick on ME all the time and yes, it did make me feel a bit nervous about what he was going to say next! I ended up wearing the plainest, most insignificant clothes I could find for a while just so he wouldn't be able to say anything about what I was wearing!! Thankfully I no longer care enough about other people's opinions to stop me from wearing what I want.
Some people are just very critical and insensitive. It's really their problem, not your's. I'm sure you're clued up enough to know what looks good on you and what doesn't!
xx
