Question:

slightly o/t but calling all students current and past!!
sorry if i offended anyone yesterday i was incredibly angry and i shouldnt have got so upset.
needless to say today has been a rollercoaster but ive paid for halls, got a single en suite room as i love my bathroom even if it costs so much more per week...
but my on topic question is how much wardrobe space will i have?
how much stuff should i throw out?

Hi just to say glad you have got everything sorted out for your room. I am a student, but a mature one still working and not in halls. But maybe you don't need to throw anything out? Howabout some under bed storage? those plastic boxes tend to fit quite well and can have clothes and shoes etc in, or DVD's and CD's. Also arranging "short" and "long" items at different ends of the wardrobe allows for more boxes etc in the bottom. Hope that helps...

It really depends. I have lived in three different en-suite halls and my biggest room had about half the wardrobe space as the accommodation I have right now.
The one I have now is just a bit under than four A4 sheet lengths (I don't have a ruler), it is huge. :D
Half hanging and the other half are cubes for you to put stuff you fold in seems to be a common theme.
Does your uni website have pics of the different rooms?

I haven't read through all the replies to your other thread yet but am sure people will understand if you were angry yesterday hun, it's only natural with the circumstances! Hope you're feeling a bit better today
As for wardrobe space, it's very difficult to say as student rooms vary hugely! I was really lucky in my halls last year and had a massive double wardrobe plus 5 drawers and 3 shelves that I used for folding jumpers, jeans etc. I ended up with more space for clothes in my uni room than I do in my bedroom at home! Other friends in different halls however only had 1 tiny single wardrobe  It really depends on the uni, and which halls you go into.
En-suite rooms are generally nicer and bigger however, so hopefully you'll have a big wardrobe :fingers: You could always buy some little drawers from Ikea or something too, if you have the floor-space for them?

thats what i thought.. they have 360 degree tours of standard rooms on the website and they have a wardrobe, chest of drawers and shelving and desk and single bed.
im hoping i can get all my stuff in but my mum has said i can put stuff into storage at hers if needs be.
basically the only big things im taking are my dvds, cds my record bags x2, my clothes shoes jewelry and make up toiletries... and then a bedside lamp, my laptop, my small flat screen lcd tv and dvd player.
will that be ok do you think?
the en suite is more expensive but i really think that i need to have that extra thing for me as i cant bear the thought of not being able to dissapear into the bathroom surrounded by my pampering things for hours.
