Question:
I'm having a photographic makeover - What outfits to take?!
My friend had a photo makeover done the other week, and put me and some other friends in for a chance to win a free one (I think everyone wins as it makes them money but hey ho!).
Well I got a phonecall yesterday to say I have won and I thought it would be a fun day so I am going for it :D I am having the "true goddess" pamper day, hand massage and mini facial, make up (I am determined they are not going to turn my face orange as I doubt their foundation is pale enough for me so am taking my own. Do you think they will mind me insisting they use it?), hair and photo's done for the princely sum of nothing (obviously I will have to pay for any photos if I like them).
They have told to me bring about 5 outfits. I want to take things which I love but won't date too quickly, and will be flattering as i have tummy issues. I love my clothes, but if I am spending out on any photos I don't want to look at thein a years time and think "yuk what was I thinking!".
I thought for some simple basic outfits I would take my nice indigo boot cut jeans which fit like a dream and avoid unsightly lumps and bumps, and these tops which are also very flattering on me, especially the tummy area...

I will also some nice accessorise and shoes, but will need to take a suitcase as I won't be able to decide which
.
Any one got any ideas for any other outfits that might look good on camera?
I can't go bare legged (very pale corn beef legs at the moment).
Thanks :)
Oooh I had one of these done a few years ago, they are great fun. Prices are pretty high for buying the pics though, but its hard not to, as they do look great! I wasn't allowed to see myself before having the pictures taken and was pretty shocked afterwards at the amount of make up I had on, but on the photographs it looked great. Not sure about outfits, I ended up just buying one of my head/shoulders. Only thing to watch is don't wear anything too high fashion, as it will look dated pretty quickly, same goes for jewellery, I cringe when I look at the earrings I was wearing!
Have fun.

Hi misses! THanks for your reply. I am really worried they are going to coat me with make up! I had one of these done by a different company when i was 17 and they put orange foundation and bright lipstick on me and reassured me it would look great on camera. Well it didnt, all the photos were of me looking like an oompalumpa it was hideous! This place looks a bit more on the ball though so fingers crossed there won't be any cheesy poses and soft focus lenses :D
Oooooo you're gonna have so much fun Nursie & I bet the pics will turn out lovely! :D You look great whatever you wear so I'm sure whatever you pick out will look really nice. I would agree that a simple outfit might be better though as you don't want anything that will date.
I think it would also be a good idea to take your own foundation & maybe some other bits you like as you may not like what they pick out for you. Do you know how you want your hair yet? :)
Let us know how it goes, I'm sure you'll look fabulous! :D

Hi Nursie,
Your best bet is a very simple round neck white tshirt, I thik something even plainer than your picture would be best. Keep accessories to a minimum. I would steer clear of the printed top, or any printed top for that matter.
My sister is a photographer and always advises people to wear either a very simple black or white top with some jeans. This gives the best result in the photos and it will also ensure they stand the test of time!
Enjoy your day!
