Question:
I think I am too old for this but...
i got some high waisted denim shorts from Topshop and just tried them on with opaques, some red patent platform sandals, a red and black leopard pussy bow blouse with long puffed sleeves and huge tight cuffs with a waistcoat over the top (because I have big boobs and high waist makes thm look bigger) and even if I say so myself, I think I look ok.
I think I'll take the shorts back as I doubt I'll ever wear them, it is definately a evening outfit but Im pretty sure that there are at least some limits at my age and size!
I think that sounds like a great outfit! I would say this, but of course you aren't too old. You are self aware enough to know what looks good. Trust your judgement.

I think you should keep them - women are generally very critial of themselves, so if you think you look good, then I reckon everyone else will think you look awesome!
