21st Birthday outfit - I need some inspiration!!

I'm planning on buying the outfit for my 21st birthday soon and I need a little inspiration....
I appear to have been doing the skinnies & tunic / skinnies & dress look for way too long and I desperately *need* to get something cool for my party....
I've been thinking about a pair of high waist shorts from TS, opaques and some elevators or some sparkly shoes - haven't made my mind up yet.... but I'm not 100% what to wear for a top!! Since I've been in tunics and long length tops for sooooo long, I have completely lost all my sense of style!! :cmdunno:
I was thinking about a pussy bow style blouse, but I'm not 100% how it would work with the high waist and I'm also not a massive fan of them as I don't think they look right on me....
So I was wondering what any of you have been wearing with your high waist shorts / what you have seen on other people....

I haven't got a pair myself but think they look fab, I love the high waisted shorts look :great:
I was just saying on another thread that Geri Halliwell looks fab in the papers today in high waisted shorts, matching waistcoat and stripey t underneath. This might be too casual for your 21st though :think:
I think if you go for a blouse it needs to be fitted/tucked in, to show off the high waist. All in one bodies look funky with them, saw these in American Apparell the other day.

wow, I haven't worn an all in one body for years!! :D I like the sound of it, but I am thinking of the practicalities of wearing one whilst a little drunk :wine: :lol: I think I'll definitely get one to wear when I know I'll be a little more sober!
I'm having a party, getting it all sorted now... I love arranging parties and jolly ups!!
Anyway, I was thinking of something cool to wear tucked into the shorts... I think I need to start looking hard - the only thing I'm worried about is having a pattern / print on a T or blouse cut off half way with the shorts.. I need to get a detailed top where the detailing is near the neckline. :think:
I shall start hunting.....

Oh yeah! I forgot we share birthdays, unfortunately I won't be 21 this year though :lol: Know what you mean about the pattern thing, maybe stripes would be good as then it wouldn't matter.

I haven't got any high waisted shorts (I took them back due to*ahem* thigh issues) But I have some high waisted jeans and have worm them with both stripey tops and with a polka dot pussy bow blouse.
How about a little checked cowgirl style blouse tucked into shorts?
