Question:
Ladies size 16 - 20 - where do you shop?
I get the impression sometimes from my shopping trips that us slightly more rubenesque girls ought to be in slimming stripes or sack-cloth!! Many high Street shops and online outlets only go up to a 14. Which is terrible really since aparantly over a third of girls under 40 are a 14 and above.
I buy a fair bit from Ebay shops of late, and occasionally from Evans - they are a bit middle-age stylee though, and I have a lovely friend who makes clothes for me, in a style I like and a size that fits!! This is especially good as I like fashion off the beaten track.
I am by no means obese or enormous - a size 18 - hardly mahooosive - so why is it so diff to get nice clothing?
I'm a 16-18 and I tend to shop in M&S, Debenhams, sometimes Evans (only for trousers though).
I'm 41 so I don't tend to follow fashion trends, I just wear what suits me and is comfortable - jeans/trousers and tops normally.
Evans (obviously)
New Look - also good in terms of consistent sizing
M&S
Dorothy Perkins
H&M (their BiB range isn't particularly hot at the moment, but usually gets better towards the summer. I can also recommend having a hunt around their other departments, as some of their sizes can come up large - but it's mostly trial and error)
I am so with you blackcat, its terrible isnt it! I am also a size 18, I also dont think thats enormous but you should see some of the looks I get if I ask for that size in a shop
I get some bits in primark, George at Asda is fabby for larger sizes, I get some bits in Evans (I am loving their tunics for this spring, have you seen them BC they are really nice) I get jeans in M&S and I do tend to get quite a bit of clothing on ebay, I could do with knowing someone who could make clothes, that would be fantastic as I do get tired of wearing generic things, maybe I should learn to make stuff myself  I also get some bits in the next outlets, they go up to a size 18.
I would love to see some of your friends made pieces BC, any chance of some pics?
I think it might be worth trying shops that go up to a size 16 for some items. I'm also an 18 also but always take a look in places like TS, Warehouse, Oasis and Whistles as some of there items are quite generous - I have a gorgeous size 14 dress from Whistles that fits like a dream! I find the trousers in these places are always too small but can often get tops, dresses and occassionally skirts that fit.
Other than that I go to Monsoon and M+S, and H+M and New Look if I'm having a particulary crap shopping day.
