Question:
Creating a whole new wardrobe-advice needed
Hi all
I'm moving in two weeks and have just had a mammoth clear out and don't seem to have much left. I had a daughter 9 mths ago and am currently a size 12 but once I've lost my last bit of weight will probrably fluctuate between a 10-12. I'm not happy showing the tops of my arms and have a bit of a fat arse.I got rid of all dodgy gear i had, short skirts, navel revealing tops and some just plain manky stuff.
What I'm left with includes:
FC black wide leg trousers
black polo necks
tons of different tunic tops
serpent dress
Oasis tan bomber
black funnel neck wool zara coat
TS Skinnies
7FAMK indigo bootcuts
I have loads of shoes/boots tan knee highs, uggs mary janes etc and tons of bags so don't need those at the mo but am seriously lacking in the clothes department.
I have a 1k windfall coming to me so my question would be
what should i spend it on?
Sorry for waffling and thank you. x
:)
What sort of clothes are you going to need? Smart work clother? Casual? Going out?
It sounds as if you have some good pieces left in your wardrobe at least.
The first things that spring to mind are:
- a dress with long or 3/4 sleeves (maybe a wrap dress?)
- another pair of trousers - maybe in grey
- high quality cashmere jumper or cardigan in a colour that really suits you
Sorry So busy waffling I leave out most important info!
I'm at home with my daughter so don't need work things, but I'm moving to a new area where I hope to make new friends (mums/babies clubs etc) so would like to look nice. I have a few going out things a few floaty /silky kimono type things from Karen Millen and Zara so really I'm ok there at the mo. I need things that I can mix and match to be smart/casual with maybe a few pieces that I can take into evening.
:)
It does sound like you have a good base already.
Agree about good quality knitwear. Brora still have their sale on and M&S cashmere is pretty good quality - goes into the washing machine and comes out just fine. Important when you are dealing with kids, I imagine.
A couple of flattering dresses if you are into them. Something that can be worn in the winter with tights, polonecks/cardies and flip flops in the summer.
Good quality basics like tees and vests for layering.
A casual coat, like a nice peacoat or a parka perhaps?
For summer how about some city shorts? Either in light weight fabric or denim.
