Question:
Date tonight- What do I wear?!?
I rarely post in fashion but I read a lot of posts for fashion inspiration as you are a truely stylish bunch :)
Title says it all really, this is my first date in nearly three years as I split with ex two days before Christmas.
My date is taking me to an indian restaurant thats had rave reviews and then we are going for drinks in town after. I have a fairly good selection of basics and some really cute 60's dresses- one petrol blue, one pale grey, one black and one patterned.
I dont wont to look like Im trying too hard, the look I want is kind of dressy but casual. Impossible? Please help! :)

Personally I would opt for something I will feel comfortable in, obviously as its the first date you have to make a semi-effort, but like you said, I wouldnt want to make it look to OTT.
I would probably opt for some long jeans that settle on the floor with my heels on, a longline bandeau top and a long pendant, then do something with my hair e.g curl it. On me, this is enough to make me feel dressed up.
You've mentioned your dresses so am thinking you probably want to wear one of them, if so then Id go for the one that you are most comfortable in and that you think looks the nicest, the one that you have shoes and jewlerry to match it up with.
How about wearing a mini dress over skinnies and either some boots or funky platforms?
Oh God I'd wear one of your dresses, but I am comfortable being quite dressed whatever the occasion. Perhaps a dress with opaques and ballet pumps or flat vintage boots to dress it down. I think it's nice to look a bit girlie on a date and if he likes you he should appreciate that you've made the effort.

I love my dresses as they are so easy to wear. I like the suggestion of long jeans and heels- I have a *new* white top scoop neck with balloon sleeves to the elbow, from TS. Ive got black skinnies which I could wear with black TS slams, or 7FAMK in dark blue with dune navy suede and patent heels.
Ive worn dresses a lot recently, so maybe I should go with jeans, which ones tho?
