Question:
Do you buy clothes on credit?
I guess maybe this is a bit of a personal question, but my NAP thread got me thinking.
I don't have a credit card because I just don't like the idea of them - I'm sure one day I'll need one but I'm holding off until then.
I just wondered how many of you buy clothes on credit if you don't have the money in the bank? I guess I've trained myself well in the sense that if I don't have the cash, I just don't buy something. I don't really feel there's a right or wrong way either - unless someone's getting into terrible debt of course.
I just wondered really!
I don't buy anything on credit. I had an overdraft whilst I was at university, but that was interest free, so I never counted it as such, and paid that off as soon as I left. So far, I've only had a visa debit card, never any store cards etc.
I'm right in the middle of sorting out my first credit card though. It will be for emergencies only, and I hope I don't get into a cycle of buying clothes, other non-essentials on it. It's not that I have anything against credit cards, but right now I'm not in the position to pay it off it everything did go tits up

same here. I don't have a credit card and I don't want one, if there was something I needed desperately and had no money and couldn't borrow it off my parents then I might get one, I'd buy what I needed and then get rid of it. I think they just encourage people to get into debt
I have a credit card but I pay it in full each month so never pay any interest on it. I just use it as a way of spreading payments across two paychecks. I mainly use it for booking holidays though rather than clothes.
I originally got mine back in the days when you couldn't use Switch cards over the phone to buy things so I had to get a credit card to buy train tickets and concert tickets - I'm so old!
I have a credit card, and use it regularly (although I'm going to cut down on the usage a fair bit, because I need to start saving much more money), but always keep it within limits that I can comfortably pay off completely each month. I do appreciate having it and it can save me money since it's a way to avoid getting overdrawn if things are tight at the end of the month.
I actually got it to improve my credit rating; someone who repays everything on their credit card every month can have a better credit rating that someone with a clean credit rating and who hasn't got a credit card. Plus I needed it so I could order stuff from ThinkGeek in the States :D
