My here is minging!
Question:

My here is minging!
I bought a new here yesterday from Debenhams, it's a Radley bag which is for work/smart occasions.
Anyway, instead of smelling like lovely new leather, it smells vile - it's hard to explain the smell, a kind of acrid, very chemically smell.
Any ideas what it could be and how to get rid of it? I've left the bag open in my living room hoping that the smell will go away, but if it doesn't I will have to take it back, as it seriously makes me feel sick.

How about putting a pot inside with bicarb in? I say pot, so that your bag doesn't get covered in bicarb!

Did they all smell like that in the shop? I would try taking it back and exchanging it; if its making you feel sick then its practically unusable. :)

Sometimes it can be the chemicals they used to treat the leather bicarb or even a little bag of washing powder (left open) should get rid of the smell!

Answers:

Try leaving a handful of coffee beans in it overnight with the bag done up(maybe on some kitchen roll or something or in an open pot so as not to mark the inside). Coffee neutralises most smells.
I would say you have a good case for a refund if all else fails.
