Another Xmas do question

It's my xmas do tonight and i'm going to be wearing *that* black floral new look tea dress.
with dark red boots (flat), black opaques and red beads... oh and a primani vintage style red long strap bag. (i'm thinking indie cute not high heels)
but...
1)what the hell do i wear over it? (10 mins stroll to the pub and any wandering between bars.)
2)should i swap the belt for a length of same thickness black ribbon to break it up a bit?

1. have you got a black shawl to wear,that will be ok for a quick walk,or if not just wear a chunky cardi over until you get there.
2.yes,try the ribbon it sounds a very sweet oufit anyway and the ribbon will be the finishing touch-can you post a pic,cos you know how much we love the pics!!
