How much do other people's opinions influence you?
Question:

How much do other people's opinions influence you?
I like to think I dress to please myself, but other people's opinions probably matter to me more than I like to admit.
For example, I got a Mulberry Elgin in Olive. I showed it to my Mum who commented that it didn't look much for the money and you couldn't tell it was anything special. I have to admit that's taken the shine off my Mulberry a leetle bit.
What about you?

Answers:

yeah, i like to think i am not bothered about what people think but i think i do actually care
if it was something i really really liked i think i'd still buy it but saying that things my bf doesn't like i am reluctant to buy
xx

Answers:

I never ask for people's opinions when I buy something or when I am getting dressed. However if I buy something and I REALLY love it I more often than not show my boy when I get home who more often that not says something that I dont like. So now I come home with an armful of carrierbags and just take them straight upstairs without showing him - it annoys me too much when he "takes the shine off" of something that I love, like you said AM

I like to have opinions when I'm not 100% on something or when it's very different from my usual style.
I do hate it when someone makes a comment like that over something new that I love.... though I have had loads of compliments on my olive Elgin Arish and I definitely think it's something special :heartpop:
You have great taste ;)

Thanks Shiny ;) Are you still loving yours as much?
I've had no compliments on mine. I don't think any of my colleagues would recognise that it's a Mulberry.
