Question:
could i save this?
Hi all
i bought a lovely jumper i bought a month ago or so,i was at a party last week and ripped it just below my boob and also on the arm(dont ask!)i dont want to throw it away cause it really like it
I was thinking about maybe sewing a patch over it
any suggestions?
i was thinking a black patch but cut it into a shape?
its a long sleeve rouched v neck jumper,in turquoise
many thanks
How about applique-ing a picture onto it - similar to those skull tops that were around not long ago?
How do i go about doing this?
Do you have a sewing machine?
The way I'd do it (though if you do a search on google you may come up with a better way...!) is to cut out your shapes and make sure you leave a 1cm ish extra round the edge of your main shape (for example if you were doing a skull, round the skull shape but not the eyes etc), wundaweb them together and then snip all around the 1cm allowance you left, fold these edges under and iron to seal and make a nice neat edge.
Then you could use your sewing machine or handstitch the edge just to neaten it up properly and sew it on, or you could just iron it on and the wundaweb should just bond to the jumper.
TIP: Use greaseproof paper when ironing the wundaweb without the backing on, so that it doesn't stick to either your iron or your ironing board.
As I said, see if you can search for similar on google - I'm not great at explaining!
