Real v fake designer bags
Question:

Real v fake designer bags
  Hi all,
I apologise if this has been done recently. How do you feel about 'designer inspired' (or fake) bags? I'm thinking of Lush or HKBL, for example. Would you rather save up for the real thing, or are you happy to have a good copy of a designer bag?
I've always been happy with the latter, but lately I've been feeling that I'd rather have the real thing. I'd prefer to go for an original at a cheaper price (for example the slouchy Lloyd Baker shoulder bag from Red Direct) while I am saving up for the real thing.
What do you think?
M :)

I'd rather have a cheaper original bag than a fake designer bag. No matter how good a copy, I'd know it wasn't real... And I wouldn't bother buying a real designer bag for ££££ unless I really could afford it easily - seems silly to live in a hovel and wear Primark rubbish while carrying a superexpensive Chloe bag, say! I'd rather have good quality and reasonably expensive shoes and better quality clothes, with a good quality bag from a cheaper designer (or a non-designery nice bag, if there's such a thing! I recently bought a lovely leather bag for about £150, of no recognisable (to me) brand, which I thought was a good investment).

I would definately save up for the real thing!
But then I know lots of people who are over the moon with Lush copies.
How about a designer bag in the sale? There are some great bargains at the moment! What are you after?
xx

Answers:

Unless the original was reasonable i'd go for a copy. Most of the time i like a bag for the design and not the name.
I'm lucky that my OH bought me the real paddington but he's mad  i'd have to spend nothing for a year to afford a real one usually and there's no way i could do that.

I'm not after anything in particular (although I wouldn't say no to a Paddington or a Bayswater  ).
I've always been happy with Lush copies, but recently I've felt a bit odd using them, because I know they aren't the real thing
However, on my income, there's no way I can justify buying a designer bag, like the ones I mentioned above.
I just wanted to know what others thought :)
