Question:
Does anybody else struggle with planning outfits in advance?
I am really really bad at it :head:
As an example, I going away early tomorrow morning until Thursday night. This trip requires:
Office wear (suit-smart) for tomorrow day
Casual for team meal tomorrow night
'Smart casual' (I hate that term) for Wednesday day
Casual but needs to impress for 'informal chat' with boss Wednesday night
Super smart for meeting Thursday day.
Factor in the bizarre weather at the moment and you have one very confused Shiny surrounded by a very big pile of clothes.
Am I just hopeless, or do other people struggle with this too?
Yes. I am the queen of taking a massive bag with loads of different clothes, none of which can be made into an outfit.
On Saturday after packing very badly for a weekend at my boy's house I had to go shopping in that blue silk new look dress, no tights, uggs and a Clash t shirt. I looked ridiculous.
Me too, and for exactly the same reasons. You know I always imagined you'd be brilliant at planning ahead, and I wish you'd get a style diary so I could steal some more ideas :o
I'm not a stalker....honest!
That's very kind of you ambukate, but trust me, if you saw the state of me right now (red faced and sweaty with my entire wardrobe on the floor) you'd laugh.
Blonde I bet you ended up looking fantastic, you sickeningly gorgeous thing :p
It doesn't help matters that I'm going to be with work people, who are mostly older and quite conservative.
Have provisionally decided on:
Tomorrow day: Grey slouchy trousers, black longline cap sleeved top and teal/petrol blue shoes
Tomorrow evening: Grey jumper dress with jeans and leopard print ballet pumps
Wednesday day: Mustard/green/grey/black striped skirt, black longline t, cropped black cardigan, vintagey slouch boots
Wednesday night: (clean) black longline t, grey wrap cardi, black cable knit skirt, same boots as day time
Thursday: Black suit, white shirt, pale salmony-pink Jimmy Choos.
There'd better not be a sudden mini heatwave in the North West or I've had it.
Funny you should mention the funny mini-heatwave - I got caught out by one of those at the end of last week..... in a 100% wool sweater dress and tights.
Took the tights off at the gym at lunchtime and then just looked a little under-dressed, yet still over-hot for the rest of the day.
I have this problem all the time as I live in one city and work away in another. Drives me nuts. There isn't a magic solution so I end up wearing the same things most of the time until I get sick of them.
