knitting?
Question:

knitting?
I was at a friend's house last weekend and she 'confessed' she's started knitting- I haven't done this since I was little but remember it being quite theraputic.
Does anyone else knit? Do you knit clothes for yourself or for others? (see... I've tied it in to 'fashion' :p )

Answers:

I knit but I'm incapable of knitting anything but scarves.

Answers:

Yes, when I have the time! I've made a couple of jumpers and a shrug - I started making this before they were popular and spent ages on it, and then just after I finished they were everywhere   I do quite a bit of crochet as well.
I like making vintage-y knits - this book and Sarah Dallas' Vintage Knits both have some lovely patterns (and many are quite easy).

I used to knit scarves when I was younger but because I ALWAYS droppped stiches so they ended up being tapered!
May knit all my xmas presents this year if just to see the look on my familiy's face when they see they have matching jumpers! :p
Just thought it maybe a good thing to do in the evening to avoid snacking too!
ETA- G_K thanks for those links! Will get started tomorrow- is it sad to be excited about knitting? :o

Answers:

Well, if it is, then I'm sad too. I love wandering round looking at all the different wools and working out how they'll knit up with different needle sizes and choosing colours and figuring out the tensions and knitting sample swatches and, and just everything to do with it! :D
Lord, I'm a knitting nerd :cmeek: :loopy:
It's very therapeutic. Until stitches start appearing and disappearing when they have no business doing so
