O/T - What happens - Ebay
Question:

O/T - What happens - Ebay
I sold a neck scarf to a lady on Ebay, I sent it 1st class in the post alongside three other items I also sold on Ebay.
I recieved a message this morning from her politely asking if it had been sent...
Everyone else has recieved theres but her.
What happens from here?
It was sent well over a week ago, so its clearlly not going to reach her...
I have no proof of posting, I got a reciept with postcodes written on it, but I stupidly just threw it away as have never had this problem before.
She only paid for 2nd class posting, I didnt even offer a recorded option - But if it had been requested it wouldnt of been a problem at all.

I'm not entirely sure about this, but when I ordered something off ebay that didnt arrive the post office told me the sender (you, in this case) had to call a number and report it missing. I may be wrong but i think the number is 08457 740 740 (this is one from a post office receipt, if its not the right department they may be able to put you through)- i remember it was quite expensive to ring tho.
Hope that helps a bit, tho not sure what they'll do if u dont have the receipt, but worth a try

If you had kept the receipt it could have been used as proof of posting and Royal Mail would have offered compensation for the missing package. However, I think you *might* be able to claim something back.
I had to go through this process when something I shipped to the USA never arrived. You could go to your local post office and ask for a P58 form, or you can claim online using this:
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/j...diaId=15500181
Just click on the "Provide more details" button to move onto the next page.
BTW, I think RM states that something must be undelivered for 15 working days before it is officially lost.
Another tip, it will ask for the value of the item you've sent. Use the ebay invoice for this or even better, an original store receipt or similar.
HTH.
