Question:
Manchester and another kick up the bum
This is a biggie for me, after yesterday's post about having a panic attack in my own town centre :o
My Dad has a meeting in Manchester tomorrow, and has offered to drop me off in the centre on his way and then pick me up again in the afternoon.
How are the shops looking right now? Are they getting nicely stocked up for Autumn or is it still sale dregs? Any brilliant Primark finds?
Basically I'm wanting to know if there'll be enough to keep me occupied for about 6 hours  I'm planning to take a book so that if I have a panic I'll dive into the nearest coffee shop (hoping it'll be quiet now kids are back at school...couldn't get into shops for a coke yesterday while I was wobbly because I couldn't stand all the people) and sit there. Worst comes to worst I'll stay there til my Dad comes (all the people I know in Manchester will be working during the day otherwise I'd ask for company) but I'm hoping that won't happen - I have an Autumn wardrobe to buy! :D
So yes, lots of positive thoughts needed please ladies and if anyone who's been in Manc lately could shed some light for me that'd be superb!

Well, I'm coming down to Manc for an afternoon of shopping tomorrow so we could always meet up :D I should be quite easy to spot, I'll have a manic expression of someone who's trying to get to as many shops as possible in the space of a few hours
Hey Bibs. I was there on Saturday and Primark was pretty good, they have some cute little 60's dresses in mustard and black. I went into most of the usual shops, TopShop has loads of nice Autumn stuff but that was about it. New Look was unimpressive unless you want one of those bomber jackets which imo arn't very nice although the shoe department as always was great. I wasn't impressed by Urban Outfitters, River Island, Miss Selfridge. Saw some nice stuff in Zara but didn't buy any of it. Thats about it really.
With regards to you needing a bolt hole, I know the perfect place. Walk the side of Debenhams towards Afflecks, walk past Afflecks and cross the road towards White Label (mens boutique) and then walk up the iron stairs next to white label to a little bar called Simple. Its really nice and relaxing and never busy. Although its a bar you just need to go in and plonk yourself on a sofa, they will come and serve you. I suggest you try the waffles with ice cream ;)
That's great, thanks - shall try and find Simple.
Meet you there for waffles and ice cream Loons? :D
Hope you have a great time, I can't for the life of me remember where it is or the name but there is a lovely little cafe that does hot chocolate with massive marshmellows in it! (sorry not very helpful)
