Question:
BV-style woven leather bag - worth getting a cheap version?
I really really want one of these:
Bottega Veneta Woven Napa Hobo, about £700
but I can't afford it, obviously :(
I could, however, afford this:
Nine West Dream Weaver Tote, about £48
... but is it worth it? I just really want a woven leather bag but I don't know if having to get the cheap version would depress me more than not having one at all. Also the 9 West one feels and looks nice but it isn't actually real leather, which troubles me greatly, and I think £48 is actually quite a lot to spend on a synthetic bag. I don't like fakes but this wouldn't be a fake, just an 'inspired by' and I do like the look of it.
Thoughts? Has anyone seen any other bags like this around?

I'd save up for a real leather bag - I agree with you that £48 is a bit much for a pvc bag and it won't look nearly as nice as leather, plus you'll always have that little voice niggling in your head, that it isn't really what you wanted... I'd go for the HKBL version! :)

I have two of them. I loved it so much in black I bought it in brown too. Well worth the money.
I can definitely recommend the HKBL's ones - a colleague of mine bought one and it is so gorgeous she is now going to buy lots more for her shop. Well worth the money and Fiona can make it whatever colour you want. If you want one NOW and she has it in stock she can send one off right away.
