Question:
Packing for Conference at Hotel
Right I have a conference in Birmingham at a hotel.
The dress code is smart casual and i will be going for drinks with colleagues after. We also have a gala dinner in the evening that you don't have to dress up for. i go tomorrow and am back Thursday evening.
I need some ideas of what to wear - I'm useless at this. I have a small case and I don't want it to be so heavy that I can't carry it.
I thought
1 pairs of black trousers
1 pair of navy palazzo pants
1 pair of jeans
1 black tank top (to be worn with)
1 white shirt (that I whip the tank top off of and dress up with jewellery for dinner)
1 dark green shirt with belt
1 grey cardigan
1 black camisole
High heeled boots
and my gym kit
I'm in danger of looking a mess the whole time aren't i.

Make sure you pack a large can of married salesman repellant too :D
Your outfit plans sound just fine to me but you could ditch the gym kit, the bar will be far more alluring at the end of a long conferencing day.
It all sounds great to me, you may want to take an alternative top for the evening though as most people at conferences I've been too seem to change in the evening.
BTW which hotel are you in? I've been to lots of Birmingham based conferences and I may be able to give you the low down :p
